Saggy mummy leggings vs polished comfortable trousers

I’m returning to work from mat leave but work from home. I’m looking for a pair of trousers that are comfortable but look polished. I’m desperate to get out of my saggy mummy leggings and claim a bit of my identity back! Linen trousers would work for the warmer months but looking for the winter equivalent!

MN put me onto M&S navy jersey wideleg trousers. They are so comfortable, need no ironing, look really smart - waistband and darts so they look nicely tailored but the waistband is actually stretchy. Very forgiving if your weight fluctuates. Very dark navy, almost black, so they go with everything. I live in them in winter.

Edited to add link: M&S wide-leg jersey trousers

They also do a straight legged version.

These are my go to - straight leg version.
They look great

Have you looked at Halara?
Comfortable, hard wearing and stretchy... but also smart styles... look at the sizing before you buy (in terms of measurements) .... I've not had anything from them that wasn't good

I recently got these https://www.next.co.uk/style/sv057692/au1969 and they look fairly smart but they're stretchy and have an elasticated waistband. I got my usual size but tbh I should have probably sized up even though I tend to have to size down in Next.

I have these and wear them for work with smart trainers. Really comfy and thick material too. I’d agree that they probably lean on the small size. I’m a 10-12 and need a 12 in these as 10 is definitely too tight.

I tried the M&S trousers on today because of this thread and oh my god, they are not c section pouch friendly, even sizing up!

This is my HUGE problem with work trousers. I’m slim ish, small waisted (again) but carry bloat and bulge low on my belly around my scar (multiple sextons). I’ve been living in denim barrel as I love the thickness of the material. Would love some suggestions for workwear as I didn’t like the lightness of a lot of the uniclo I’ve tried. Leggings are my nightmare! Hold me in 🤣🤣🤣

What did you think about the leg length, first few reviews mention they are v long?

I have these and had to buy petite for the first time in my life! I’m not tall but never been petite either. I’m around 5’4-5’5.

I have these and they are my work go to, wear them all the time with smart trainers to the office.

I bought a pair of these from Tu and they are great!! I’d say better than the M&S and they have pockets! Will see how they wash… but thanks for the heads up.

I tried these on and they’re very flattering and so soft. Bit of a job getting over my hips and bum, but fine once on - I’m an 8 and they fit fine.

Well leggings don't have to be saggy, so it's not a choice between one or the other. Women of all ages can look very nice in decent leggings, generally more so than in Vicky Pollard style trousers, but of course it's everyone's choice what they go for.

I would live in these if I didnt have a white cat. They are a pet fur magnet.
