Wide leg trousers for very short ladies..... where?

If you're 5'2 and under, where are you buying your wide leg summer trousers???

I'm looking for lightweight, flowy trousers, plain so no garnish printed stuff to wear with a tight ish top. I'm size 12.

Fed up of trawling the net.

I get most of my trousers from Next, they have loads of petite options (various brands), I order online and collect for free from my local store.

Don't do it! I'm very short as well, and I think wide leg trousers are very unflattering on us. They make our legs look shorter and thicker. Very tall, slim people can get away with wide leg trousers, but I've yet to see anyone who actually looks their best in them.

If you do try them on, be sure to check in the mirror behind you as well as in front.

I am 5 ft 5” - although i have long torso and short legs

I find the wide leg trousers are very flattering if they are cropped - I wear a 24” inside leg which sits above the ankle and they balance my short legs out !

Will you not just look square? I think wide on short people, regardless of how slim they are - looks like they are in someone else’s clothes

I buy whatever fits and take them up. Learn to sew. Life changing for short of otherwise 'irregular' sized people!

Next have a petite range which is hit and miss on length. But if you look at their website they have other brands which sell short lengths. I’ve got some really lovely Lipsy wide leg trousers. They’re soooo comfortable and are just a linen blend, rather than full linen so hold their shape much better. I will say, they’re a tiny bit too long on my 5’2 frame, but I can just wear a chunky sandal or yank up the waist bit 😊

Well yes, you can, but it’s a total pain in the arse. And they don’t always sit as nicely once you taken them up.

I’m 5’3” and just bought M&S Extra Short linen trousers. If I were any shorter they would be too long on me (unless I was wearing heels)! Their sizing is mental.

Do t agree. I’m 5ft 2 and big busted. A tightish top and wide leg trousers look great on me.

I disagree! I’ve always avoided them for this reason, but recently got a pair from Fatface who do a short length and have never had so many compliments. They’re very drapy and the shape is not exaggerated which seems to make them very flattering.

Abercrombie and fitch and Uniqlo do petite sizes. If you can get to a Uniqlo shop they have a free alteration service.
