What to wear at work never ending heatwave

I've run out of clothes I can reasonably wear now in mid 30 degrees and having to go to the office 3 days per week.

I've been wearing short sleeve and 3/4 sleeve blouses with ankle length trousers or culottes. I need to look reasonably smart. I'm fat and need to lose weight and dresses from last year look like maternity wear. In the meantime I need some ideas please.

I found some lovely dressy sleeveless tops on Shein. Also consider wearing flowy skirts or summer dresses too.

I’ve got several really cheap , quite plain, but very serviceable dresses from there and they wash up fine - several were under£20!!

Hi I work for Next, unfortunately we are now coming to the end of the summer season and replenishing stock with autumn/ winter, ( crazy in know) so alot of floaty stuff had been sold off.

Have a look at the dresses on Global Mandala website. Go for the cotton maxi dresses with 3/4 sleeves. They wash beautifully, and are under £20 inc postage. I have about 6 of them. Perfect for summer, smart enough for work & Ialso layer them up in cooler weather.

I think dresses are more flattering than tops and bottoms and at least there’s no waist band.

I've been wearing black linen trousers from Mango or Uniqglo with a fitted cotton top or t shirt. Or a floaty cotton skirt from Mint Velvet (Hobbs also do them) with a contrasting top.

I also have a couple of cotton dresses from Mountain Warehouse but they are very thin and havn't washed well. They were very cheap however.

TU or New Look for plain maxi skirts. So much cooler than trousers. Match with any plain top. Where did you get your cap sleeve tees from please? I’ve been eying up a polka one from Saint & Sofia but at £39 it’s too pricey.

I’ve barely gone into the office since the hot weather started. This is entirely because everyone has desk fans going and I can’t bear all the blowiness.

I went in for a meeting last week and wore a sleeveless linen shift dress. Tomorrow I’m wearing a Whistles dress, it’s above the knee and very loose and wafty. I’ve just faked tanned my legs in preparation.

Anything that is 100% cotton would be my rule of thumb I find any man made fibres very hot and sweaty

I have linen trousers, cullottes and then tops and some cotton dresses too -
I also bought some 100% cotton bra’s in M&S (already wear 100% cotton pants) and cotton underwear is a game changer too -
nothing worse than being uncomfortable.

I bought a couple of these. I have similar from Roman but couldn’t justify their prices (vinted finds) with loosing weight. These are comfy and smart enough to wear in my opinion (work in a school). They are however very long! I’m 5ft 7 and if I were an inch or so shorter they would
be trailing the floor.

i am wearing a size xl in this brand and its very roomy. I’m a size 18 on top and a 20 on the bottom.

I have been wearing knee length dresses. Can add a belt if the dress is too loose. I just bought in the Brakeburn sale for around £20 a go.
