Crossbody bag for holiday

GinJarRogers · 07/07/2026 16:25

I’m looking for a crossbody bag to use on holiday in a couple of weeks. For sightseeing and beach days so can be quite small - it just needs ti fit a phone, purse, lip balm. Has anyone seen a nice one around? Budget £100 but ideally less!

I got mine from Mia Tui. Good wide strap and lots of colours to choose from.

TulipsMakeMeHappy · 08/07/2026 08:03

I have a Roka one. I have no idea if they are deemed fashionable, but come in enough colours to find one you like, have a long enough strap, and have two inside small side pocket things, so I can put my keys in one to save me having to empty the whole bag to find them! I do wish that companies would put clips in for keys though.

Uniqlo for less than £15. I have them in multiple colours and love them for holidays and for every day. They’re brill :-)

Same here, I have numerous colours (as does my daughter )and it’s so lightweight too.

Can’t go wrong with Uniqlo

My thought exactly. Perfect holiday bag and change

Agree 100%. I now have quite the collection!

Same, I'm terrible - I have the round mini in quite a few colours now as it's so cheap! I also love how light it is, I can fit more in without feeling weighed down.

mimbleandlittlemy · 08/07/2026 10:41

Roka? I've had some absolute bargains off their pre-loved section.

Yep

I have been looking at the Elisabeth Scarlett bags for weeks now. I think i would go for the canvas rather than the velvet as i think would be more hardwaring and keep cleaner.

It’s not a very versatile colour

The canvas ones come in 4 different colours including black and brown Confused

You could try Weird Fish. Approx 27 x 22 x 5 cm. HWD. I have it but not in the colours shown, though there's a photo of the one I choose in the reviews (I didn't post it). I've been to Rome and Sicily and London with it. Great bag.

ETA, I also have a Uniqlo crossover, though the larger version.

I buy ones cheaply and customise them with embroidered patches or interesting fabrics. Primark have some and you can stick them through the wash. Its always a challenge to find the right size as I have taken to carrying a powerpack with me on days out and a charging cable. Just popping to the shops or for a walk needs a different size to out for the day. I think bags are an obsession for me. My latest is an army style waist bag.

the wildlife one is awful

Shylo · 08/07/2026 12:08

Another vote for Uniqlo - lightweight, deceptively spacious, hard wearing and come in loads of colours; we’ve used ours as day bags and you can get a rolled up sweater and a water bottle in it if you need to!

at £14 I wouldn’t bother going cheaper with a dupe; the Uniqlo are gonna last

What your problem, everyone has different tastes, I like some of ES bags and not so keen on the other bags. I really like the one the previous poster suggested with the suns and have been looking at it for a while.

Nothungrycat · 08/07/2026 12:24

Another uniqlo fan - I particularly like the way that you can keep the strap short and sort of tuck them under your arm if you're going through crowded areas and are worried about pickpockets.

aberturret · 08/07/2026 12:36

Another vote for Uniqlo, so easy, fold down to almost nothing. On hols just now and mine currently holding a couple of nappies, wipes, suncream, spare shorts for DS, banana, phone comfortably!

Tonissister · 08/07/2026 12:40

I bought one on Amazon. Cheap as chips but very sturdy. Three pockets of different sizes, perfect for keeping wallet in one, sunglasses in the next ,lip balm and mini sun screen in the little pocket. Also has room for tissues, hair bands, keys. It looks tiny but is like Mary Poppins' carpet bag inside. A security guard the other day was in wonder at how much it held! Grin

I just ordered this Osprey as it came up in my feed. I have uniqlo but they're pretty functional .

I love the look of that.

Trainup · 08/07/2026 13:14

Uniqlo is great. Scrunches up small for packing too. Fab. The only issue with mine is that it doesn’t have any zip inner pockets which I would prefer.

TheFairyCaravan · 08/07/2026 13:15

Fablou Luna. I’ve got 3 different colours, because they’re so lightweight and hold so much and go through the wash and come out looking new. They always have a discount code on too, it’s 40% atm.

I got a lovely cross body bag for £1 at the car booty.

EverythingIsComputer · 08/07/2026 13:27

Those Uniqlo ones are incredibly popular for good reason! I have a dark green cord one and I love it. Feels super secure when travelling, can fit a decent load of stuff in it, kind of goes with most outfits and I’m not worried about it getting grubby or damaged.

GameOfJones · 08/07/2026 13:33

Yet another vote for the Uniqlo bags. I have the corduroy ones and they're ideal for holidays as they're cheap, lightweight but hold a surprising amount.

For day to day I prefer my Pom Pom London cross body bag but it's much heavier so I always go back to the Uniqlo one for travel.

Tandmarmite · 08/07/2026 13:45

Another one for Fablou luna - often 2 for 1. Washable too and holds everything I need including a water bottle.
