Should I buy it? Wedding guest outfit

Been eyeing this up for a few months now and it’s gone into the sale, yippee! The only thing is, it’s still £228. It’s probably a little more than I would like to spend considering I got something very similar on the high street for about £60 a few years ago in green and I’d like to buy a hat as well, so I’m wondering if I might still find something similar or if anyone has spotted anything similar recently? Or does anyone have it and can vouch for it? For context it’s a summer wedding, it’s mostly viscose so better value and more breathable than polyester I suppose Smile Would probably need the pink one in the pic taken up as the petite version is sold out.

A hat with a statement outfit is so much better than a hat with a meh outfit.

definitely do a hat!

I disagree. Either go for a statement hat (which that is) or a statement outfit. Both together never works.

I think a fabulous fascinator would work better than that hat with the pink outfit. Would be more practical too!

madaboutpurple · Today 05:26

Would you consider a bighairclip,I don't think a hat is needed with such a bright outfit.

Any event that calls for a hat and where a caped cerise jumpsuit is entirely appropriate is, by definition, an event that embraces a statement. Preferably two.

Hats and clothes aren’t the sartorial equivalent of choosing between a smoky eye or a bold lip, in fact the opposite: one elevates the other exponentially.

Having spent the week before last at Ascot, the most successful looks don’t hold back. Trying to tame OPs stunning outfit choice with a fascinator or flower undermines the whole look which should lean towards drama.

If you’re tall and willowy I think it would be stunning!

Gosh this is such a disappointing and pointless comment. The garment is very clearly constructed to give a sleek shape and the look, or illusion, of long legs. For anyone who wears it.

@Peppermintcreamz as you look excellent in your green jumpsuit I imagine you’ll also look good in the pink - assuming it isn’t cut too long in the body. (Which might be difficult to alter.)

growinguptobreakingdown · Today 06:58

Get the hat too!

Missingducks · Today 07:03

Love it. Do buy it if you have £230.

But is there a reason you aren't wearing the divine green you already have?

jinyjo · Today 07:22

there you go with the hat, I'm on team no hat

Team hat.

Survivingnotthriving24 · Today 11:04

Beautiful, I'd do a big padded headband instead of hat though probably.

Yes!

itsalltoplayfor · Today 11:23

Are you saying you can't wear the green version now? Because that's fab!

High heels, no hat! What about a fancy hairband? I do not mean a fascinator.

abitbloodybrighteroverthere · Today 11:25

Is it a Masterchef wedding? 😁

If not, I’d skip the huge padded headband …

thisoldcity · Today 11:37

Love the pink outfit!

BeDandyDenimSloth · Today 11:55

Depending what size you need it’s on eBay a lot cheaper in size 8 and 10

Pineapples123 · Today 12:34

Karen Millen have a very similar one! I’ve just worn it to a wedding and had lots of compliments

Peppermintcreamz · Today 17:39

Thanks! I haven’t tried the green on in ages as I went up a size about two years ago, I do still have it though!

Isn't it just. Apparently about 95% of everything produced by the rag trade is only suitable for the tall and willowy. Who'd have thought it.

SparkyBlue · Today 19:22

Absolutely go for it OP. If you’ve been eyeing it for ages then you will only be kicking yourself if you don’t get it. I bought a dress yesterday that I’d been eyeing for ages then it was sold out and I was devastated but one came back in stock yesterday.
