What bra (if any with this dress)

Hi all,

I've just purchased this dress for holiday and I love it. Its the right amount of girly and floaty but also covers my bloated belly. I'm slim but have hormonal issues and get very bloated.

Any ideas what bra can be worn with it, if any? As it's backless. I'm just worried I'll bend over and my nipples may fall out! I've got in white but think I'm going to get another colour too, just haven't decided which.

You can't wear a bra. Would look awful with a strap at the back. Maybe try one of those front stick on ones

StarlightLady · 26/06/2026 06:06

I wouldn’t wear a bra with it. It’s designed for hot weather anyway. I would suggest though that if you feel in danger of falling out of it, you need to size down.

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 26/06/2026 06:50

I wouldn’t wear a bra with that. I have large breasts so wouldn’t wear the dress. If you feel you can go braless then fair enough.

Punkindrublic · 26/06/2026 06:52

Bikini top

Mosaic123 · 26/06/2026 07:42

It's an absolutely lovely dress but if a bra is essential then it's not the dress for you.

WashableVelvet · 26/06/2026 08:07

I think a white sports bra (the kind with thin straps) could look intentional. Or a bikini top. Or, I believe you can get longline bras with the strap down low but don’t imagine you want your tummy covered like that in the heat.

greylamp · 26/06/2026 08:11

If you’re slim (so possibly small chested)- what about some of those silicone nipple covers? Gives you peace of mind about falling out of the dress without having to worry about bra straps showing x

dudsville · 26/06/2026 08:49

Since the bodice is patterned I would expect to be able to wear it without a bra, but it is a low cut fit that option so will depend on how it fits you.

AbsoluteHoot · 26/06/2026 08:53

No bra with that. It’d ruin it.

AltitudeCheck · 26/06/2026 08:55

I'd go for a bikini top, triangle string or bandeau style in a contrasting colour and make a feature of it, that or go braless and be very aware of my posture at all times! I couldn't be bothered with the faff of a stick on bra, especially if it's warm.

bellsbuss · 26/06/2026 08:56

Stick on bra would work with that dress

SylvanMoon · 26/06/2026 11:01

I wouldn't wear any bra with it. It's lovely though and probably very cool to wear in the heat.

SliceofTosst · 26/06/2026 11:53

I wouldn't wear one. The dress is quite a good shape at the front to get away with no bra too.

Purplecatshopaholic · 26/06/2026 11:59

I have a similar one from FP. I don’t wear a bra with it. At a push I did think about those sticky stick-on bra things, but I haven’t bothered yet. I agree a bikini top would probs work too.

Londonmummy66 · 26/06/2026 12:02

Either a bikini top or secure the front to you with a bit of tit tape

Bikini top

Yes, this. I’d put a white bikini top under it with the halter ties at the neck and ties at the back.

Pssedoffathis · 26/06/2026 12:35

Bikini trimmer from amazon. Not as close shave as a razor but does the trick.

I also wear a swim suit with inbuilt shorts and vest top whe I take my kids seimming, which is so much easier and no worries about falling out of it, dignity when getting in and out of the pool, you can move more freely and quickly to grab them without worrying about flashing anything, shaving or whatnot. Its been a gamechanger 😆

minipie · 26/06/2026 13:02

No bra. But are those strings at the front functional ie can you tighten them? If so then could get some support from the dress itself.

Lurkingandlearning · 26/06/2026 13:24

No bra. If you need to pick something up from the floor, rather than bend over bend at the knees (squat) or keep one hand on your chest to keep the top half of your dress in place. It is a lovely dress. Enjoy it

What a lovely dress. If you can get away with no bra why worry. I am by no means flat chested yet rarely wear a bra on holiday & often the same at home depending on the days events.

Bigcat25 · 26/06/2026 14:54

Nipple covers - There are silcone ones that stay on without adhesve, or a lace pullover bralet.

Sorry, but l think the time has come when we need to stop pretending that we don’t have nipples, let alone risking some sort of coverage slipping.

tealandteal · 26/06/2026 16:51

That is definitely a no bra dress. I have just bought boob tape essentially from Perky Pear for a no bra dress I have to wear on Sunday. Hopefully it works!

If it’s not the support you are worried about you could always use fashion tape to tape the dress to your chest to stop it moving.

LadyDancealot · 26/06/2026 17:22

I bought some bra inserts from amazon and have had them stitched into my backless dresses - it works if there's a lining and ideally if there's a band under the bust e.g. halter neck styles. Might work on that dress as it's lined - just get thin ones - not the padded/moulded ones.
