Sorry everyone! I didn't realise how near the end of the old thread we were.

What on earth have you all done with yourselves for the last few hours? 😂

As always everyone welcome to join in and hopefully this is the thread we see the first 'big' BAC reveal. 😍

Selfridges are normally very good @Fillybuster - hopefully they’ll find you another perfume edit. Was it on the packing list?

Yes - that’s what’s so annoying. It’s on the list but not in the box. I definitely didn’t get the sense they were planning to track one down for me, more like, hmm, well ask our warehouse team if they packed it. Which clearly they didn’t, but think they did!

LightandBreezy · 24/06/2026 23:55

@Ilovepond glad you got a ticket! And thanks @SummerLimes for explaining it's not an equivalent event - I was getting confused. I went to the H beauty Carnival last year for the first time and that was late September (I bought my Harrods BAC on the day and was lucky because they sold out quickly afterwards.) I was the poster that gave a very long whinging breakdown of the event because although I was happy with freebies and getting 10% off the advent, the queue for the spin the wheel was about 2 hours and I nearly lost the will to live. I remember warning others to do that bit first when they visited before the queues built up. So the carnival was a paid ticketed event, £15 meant you got a go on a game that was a bit like the end bit of the Crystal Maze - you stuck your hands in a perspex box with tickets flying around it and whatever ticket you pulled determined the free gift you got. I got an Estee Lauder moisturiser. Then if you spent £100 on the day you got the chance to pick 6 samples and then spin a wheel-of-fortune to get a full size gift. So this H beauty beach thing sounds a bit different but not much - goodie bag with £100 spend but possibly no choice in whats in it, and no Crystal Maze bit. They have discounted treatments and masterclasses at both, and presumably 10% off everything at both ( it's on the website now as part of the rewards weekend already)

LightandBreezy · 24/06/2026 23:59

Tbh writing that out I'm now questioning my decision to go 😂- I've not got £100 worth of stuff I want atm and would probably be wiser to wait until the carnival later in the year.

Thelifeofawife · 25/06/2026 00:03

@LightandBreezy A Crystal Maze experience would definitely get me spending £100, maybe they should do that 😅
Ooh, your post took me right back to my childhood ☺️

Was it edit 1 as that's sold out now. You may get the money back but not the perfume 😪

Rhode Summer is on Sephora although they don’t have the Peptide Lip Tints. I’ve ordered two of the Highlight Milks and the Bronzer in Sunbed against my better judgement (I have way too much stuff).

SummerLimes · 25/06/2026 06:16

@LightandBreezy I forgot about the grab thing !!

One of the other minis was a sheseido serum (pretty good). I think the spend was less than £100. The bag was a canvas tote.

If it makes you feel better I ordered one of highlighters, also picked the Bronzer in Sunbed and then got the unfragranced lip mask.

Space NK have 20% their skincare on the app, seems the warehouse still has issues as postage options are limited and wonder if that will delay the sale.

Ooh, thanks for the SNK heads up. They’ve included the Medik8 Exo PDRN serum in the 20% off which I’m really surprised about as it’s so new. I grabbed another one as my skin is loving it.

It does make me feel a bit better 😅 I had been trying to order these items off the Rhode website for a while but they were never all in stock at the right time!

Off to check the SpaceNK app… just got a £10 off £50 email from CB too.

ClutteredPalace · 25/06/2026 07:58

£10 off a £50 spend at CB with code SAVE.

namechange0998776554799000 · 25/06/2026 08:22

Annoyingly the £10 off at CB only applies to full price products and doesn't work on the chasing the sun edit, I would have gone for it otherwise

IlovePond · 24/06/2026 21:47

@LightandBreezy - please report back on tomorrow!

@JoRaRaRa - I seem to remember you going to the H Carnival- can you remember what was on offer?

Thanjs

The carnival I went to was in October, I don't think this event has as many 'prizes'. From memory, these were what I picked up from the pick and mix: huda colour corrector, btso discovery set, Maison crivelli cuir infrarouge 5ml, Elemis exfoliator, oribe mirror hair thingy, Charlotte Tilbury oil, clarins lip oil. There was quite a lot to pick from. On the catch a ticket thing, I received a Westman Atelier lip liner and a pat McGrath eyeliner on the spin the wheel. I've booked tickets for the beach event but I might give it a miss. I don't have a spare £100 to spend to get the goodie bag and it means driving to Newcastle from Leeds and I'm not sure I CBA 🤭

JoRaRaRa · 25/06/2026 08:25

Been totally influenced by you lot and bought the Rhode bronzer 🤭

The warehouse issues have been going on for ages - wonder if they have just not employed enough staff. They should refund all the next day delivery passes.

Fillybuster · 25/06/2026 08:31

@IDontHateRainbows yes, it was edit 1 😭 I’d had it in my basket for a few days at the reduced price, then ended up placing a huge clothes order to justify it. Bugger! I was really looking forward to that. Hopefully I don’t also end up being charged as well as not receiving it….

Can I request advice from the hive mind please? I’ve not owned / used bronzer for years. Nars something slightly sparkly powder was the last one. Probably time to get back to it now I appear to have 5 blushers on the go (I blame all of you!!). Recommendations please? I really like stick blushers from a texture perspective, does that mean I want the same for bronzer? Or is powder better? Dark red hair, medium light skin, dark brown eyes, not massively freckley, if that helps from a shade/colour pov. TIA! 🙏

Talisin · 25/06/2026 08:36

Just checked my ‘standard delivery’ dates for SNK - 7-10 working days! That’s not standard, that’s coming from the other side of the world type time-lag!

Thanks. I bought the bronzer in Pebble. I don't need it but I think that shade will sell out quickly and then probably take ages to come back in stock.

It's hard to find a bronzer shade that is light enough but also doesn't pull too warm. This looks like it has a pinky undertone which I hope works well. My current favourite is the lightest shade of MBM Skin Enhancer but as the name suggests it is more of an enhancer than bronzer when blended out.

Bronzers I think are my top category of failed products. When I get to sorting out my new vanity drawers I should try and pass some on.

Just ordered from SNK. Had £20 credit, so I got the new Erborian water serum. I do have the delivery pass, so let's see how long it takes. I was waiting for the sale to use my credit, but if there are issues, it might not be for a while👀

OvaHere · 25/06/2026 08:44

@Fillybuster I prefer creams but I would say powder lasts longer on the skin - like blush. I'm very pale so need to in super lightly with powder bronzer which I find tricky sometimes.

The Dior bronzer sticks seem popular but obvs pricey. Maybe you should try one of the new Rhode ones before popular shades sell out. Not cheap at £25 but cheaper than Dior.

Edit 2 is also nice although full price. I reckon you could ask for that to be sent in its place ( for no more) maybe?

IDontHateRainbows · 25/06/2026 09:03

I don't use bronzer per se but swear by the CT beauty light wand in pillow talk medium which is bronze-y.

My favourite powder bronzer is the WA Beauty Butter Bronzer, it’s very natural and not shimmery.

I also like the Merit Beauty Bronze Balm, which is translucent and not shimmery. Like the blushes though, it doesn’t always last that well, and I’ve found the Rhode blushes last better, so I suspect the Rhode bronzer will be the same. It looks more pigmented though.

The Ilia Sunshift Cream Bronzer is also very nice but it’s a bronzer/ highlighter hybrid as it has a sheen to it.

I’d previously been afraid of bronzers, had NARS Laguna for years but rarely used it, but I wouldn’t be without at least one now.

I agree, I’ve been loving my recent purchase of WA butter bronzer. It’s definitely the best one I’ve tried

keepincool · 25/06/2026 09:50

Thanks for the new thread @OvaHere - I did wonder why you'd all gone quiet 😄

@Fillybuster , I've just purchased the Dior Forever bronzer and love it. It blends really easily and has a natural look. It's discounted at Boots to £42.50 at the moment - https://www.boots.com/dior-forever-skin-bronze-10377710 .

I'm quite fair skinned and went for 02 soft fair, which is subtle. With a natural tan I could go a shade darker.
