Sorry everyone! I didn't realise how near the end of the old thread we were.

What on earth have you all done with yourselves for the last few hours? 😂

As always everyone welcome to join in and hopefully this is the thread we see the first 'big' BAC reveal. 😍

Thanks. I'll let you know how I get on. I'll pop it in the fridge now and try it after a shower.

Thanks for the reminder that I had a second one of these - I am doing it now!

( I find it a bit stiff and my face doesn’t seem to be proportioned right for it, but it’s fine for the skincare side!)

pinkchampagne1 · 27/06/2026 17:58

I hadn’t realised Liberty released their advent calendar at the end of June last year, I thought it was in July. Shouldn’t be too long to wait then. 😃

IDontHateRainbows · 27/06/2026 16:51

I thought it was one of the better ones. I bought about 10 for reselling but even I cannot reverse HNs fortunes it seems.

HN customer service is abysmal so I won't miss that if it goes.

Maybe they'll sell the name off a la Debenhams

I like browsing in store but the online experience isn't great. It was a decent calendar but it probably suffers from not being the Harrods one which sets a pretty high bar.

So we're overdue a reveal then! At least they haven't started getting even earlier. I think July is about right for content reveal seeing as they tend to go on sale in September.

I think you lot might be right and it was 2nd July. For some reason, I put 23/6 in my diary as first spoilers. Can’t think where I got that from. Still not long to wait and it’s just the thing to keen my mind off being hot!

OvaHere · 27/06/2026 18:35

Is anyone up for running the advent threads this year? I don't think Bakeoff wanted to do them again. I'm not keen on authoring a 2nd set as they'll move quickly once we hit September which is a busy time for me work wise.

Sadly @OvaHere I don’t have time. I’m a teacher and just about manage to read the threads in term time let alone manage them - life in school overtakes everything else (and I’m changing schools for next academic year too). It’s why I have big absences from posting. I really hope someone is able to commit to it though. 🤞

The harrods one is too many full bottles. I prefer the lots of travel size approach.

I dont think it didn't sell well so much as they just ordered far far more than the market needed. Even now they are still available on ebay.

IDontHateRainbows · 27/06/2026 18:50

Huffing Sunset Hour tonight. Which it should be. Alas, it is raining.

It could be that. They did seem to have a lot.

Well aren’t I clever, I didn’t bother putting anything on my face yet today as it’s so warm and I’m not going out until later, then I decided to mow the lawn and now my face looks like a tomato 🙈

I was looking forward to using my Dior highlighter palette tonight, but I don’t think I’ll be needing any extra glow

I'm imagining a blusher/ bronzer called 'tomato glow ' now

There’s a paper layer I think you’re supposed to take off. Have you been taking it off? I didn’t realise at first and also found it stiff!

Beautyfox · 27/06/2026 20:42

Popped in selfridges today and picked up Augustinus Bader the serum reduced from £310 to £155. My skin loves the stuff so at half price I splurged. I can’t see this online but they did have a few boxes in store.

IlovePond · 27/06/2026 21:03

I was quite excited to find the Vogue magazine complete with CT Pinkgasm in Waitrose today.

I wouldn’t have been pleased with another peach as it’s no good for my skin tone but happy to give this a go, (especially as I chucked out the Rodial frosted pink drops today for being rubbish!)

Ooh lucky. I tried to buy it online on the first day of the sale but it was already out of stock on the website.

Oh, I didn't realise that I was supposed to remove that. When I tried to unfold it (without my glasses on) I got in a right tangle and had to ask DH to put my specs on (because my hands were gloopy). I managed to straighten out the fabric onto the paper, then DH removed my specs, then I put the whole lot on. I thought it odd that it wouldn't mould to my face. D'oh!

It felt quite pleasant but my face feels quite sticky afterwards. I did try to pat it in with fingertips but it's still sticky. I'll certainly be washing it off before bed.

user593 · 27/06/2026 21:52

@HolidayHattie I don’t know for certain but I suspect it’s just there to make it easier to unfold, otherwise it would all stick together. I tried it leaving the paper on the first time and hated it and then realised it was probably supposed to come off 😅 much better since.

I… did not.

You heard it here first 😁

Thelifeofawife · 28/06/2026 02:02

I’m not sure if you recall but I used my Natasha Danona Roxy eyeshadow palette a few weeks ago and had a terrible experience with my eyes being irritated and watering, causing it to rub off (patchy), and I didn’t know whether it was a bad reaction or possible hayfever. Well I decided to give it another try tonight but took some emergency back up make up out with me as well, and I’m pleased to report that it was absolutely fine, and lasted nicely all evening.

On a less pleasing note, when I did my nighttime routine I used the Laneige water sleeping mask, which I have been loving, but in my tiredness (and possibly tipsyness) I dropped the pot and a load of it spilled out, leaving me with only approx 3 or 4 uses left 🙈 I’m so annoyed with myself. Though some spilled on my legs, so I’ve rubbed it in and fully expect lovely smooth legs in the morning 😅

Blame the sun. I do 🤣

SheilaFentiman · 28/06/2026 09:48

I tried to explain to DH how I had messed up the BoJ mask and I have never seen him look more bored. Lucky I have you lot 😀

I managed to get that from Tesco the other day. I really like the colour, it's a lot more subtle than it looks and I find the applicator really easy to use. Blusher is still a new area for me so I've been enjoying trying a few different types out. I think I was scarred by the pink stripes people used to sport in the 80s 😂

Thelifeofawife · 28/06/2026 10:46

Those who have the Givenchy prism libre - do you use the loose or pressed powder? I’m considering taking the plunge while there’s some discounts floating around.
Also, I have fair skin which can be red at times, so presume the 01 is best?

I think loose is better for that sort of multi colour powder. Elf have brought out a dupe which I'm trying out at the moment. It seems decent so far and I think they have free shipping at the min. Just mentioning in case you want to try the lilac/green shade out before committing to a more expensive version.
