Does this dress exist MN? Another wedding guest one.

I need a dress for my DS’s wedding and it seems impossible to find. I’ve seen what MN can come up with so I’m hoping it can work its magic for me.

I’m late 50’s, 5.3, BIG boobs (36H) and weigh about 143 pounds. I’d like short or three-quarter sleeves and a hemline below my knees.

The problem is that most dresses for big breasts are wrap dresses. I don’t where the myth comes from that wrap dresses are good for the big of boob - they certainly don’t flatter me. They just accentuate my breasts. And the current fashion for big, almost puffed sleeves does the same.

So what I’ve been hunting for is a midi dresses with simple sleeves and a dropped waist, or at least a lowish waist. I can’t wear dresses with each breast defined - don’t know what you call that shape but it doesn’t work on me. I love vivid colours - pinks, purples, greens. Patterned or floral or plain.

Am I looking for a unicorn? Would be very grateful for any steers. The wedding is semi-formal- a Sunday lunch.

TIA

More Chinese drop shipping tat. Why are posters suggesting these scam sites?

Agree about wrap dresses - even on small boobs they’re not flattering -
I think only the narrowest of rib cage can get away with them

Ignore the suggestions from Breadcat24 and pinkstripeycat. If those sites send anything it will look nothing like it does on the site and you won't be able to return it for a refund.

"The item received doesn't look like the image- it looks like a Chinese knock-off! And not even a good one. The product isn't shaped in the same way, or style.
It's not made in the UK and isn't made from the materials listed. There is no way of returning the item or getting a refund either. Avoid this company!"

Check out Nobody's Child Starlight range, if someone hasn't suggested it already!
OP described herself as "BIG boobs (36H) ". Nobody's Child tend not to be generous in the bust.
The tea dresses are pretty but not 'mother of the groom' dresses.

Well, I'll probably be wearing some form of tea dress as MOTB next year. They treat curves nicely and I noticeably get more compliments in them than from anything else I wear.

But if you have a better style in mind (that doesn't have the following: a high neck, backless/strapless/spaghetti straps, a waistband, cutouts, knee length or above, and is in an attractive colour/print) - genuinely, I'm all ears, I've been searching for months! Anthropologie Somerset dress range comes close but I haven't tried on.

Whatever the brand it's impossible to predict how they'll fit. I usually size up to fit the boobs and then bodge in the side seams alter it myself or get it professionally done if necessary. Dresses are often too low-cut too, so you have to decide whether that's fixable too.

@PhaedraTwo @StylishAndBeautiful
I was not suggesting they buy that dress from that site.
The description of what the OP wants from her post is so vague that I think it would be good to get some idea of styles she likes. I was just too lazy to post an image rather than a link.
Makes me laugh though when people come on these threads and just say "made in China" "Made in China"
When some other the other brands mentioned are also making their products in China and being sanctioned for it. eg
Boden designs its clothing in London, UK, but the garments are manufactured globally in 152 factories across 52 countries. The brand relies on specific regional expertise for different product types, with production primarily located in Turkey, Portugal, India, and China.
Lets find the style she wants first then find an ethical option for her to her to buy it

It's has absolutely nothing to do "with made in China".

Those sites are scam sites. They pretend to be based in the UK. Everything is fake. If they send anything at all, it will look nothing like the website. They will refuse a refund and the cost of returning the item to China is prohibitive. The site will cease trading in a couple of months. Posters on here have been caught out by sites like this, suggested on this forum.

It's really disingenuous to say you weren't suggesting she buys from them.

The comparison with Boden is ridiculous. These fraudulent sites are nothing like Boden - in fact they make Shein and Temu look respectable. At least Shein and Temu are honest about who and where they are and seem to deliver acceptable clothes.

StylishAndBeautiful · Yesterday 13:09

Well @MixedFeelingsNoFeelings all I did was post an opinion on the Nobody's Child suggestion. I didn't criticise tea dresses or Nobody's Child.

@Breadcat24 , I didn't say anything about 'made in China'. I pointed out that the site you linked had poor reviews. @PhaedraTwo had already posted that it was a scam site.

OP, why not book a appointment with a personal shopper at one of the big stores, let them know what you are looking for, and they can have a selection ready for you.

Is the Boden Imelda quite heavy jersey? Thinking about it for a wedding but might be too warm
for me
