Heatwave perfume?

MummaMiaWhatHaveIDone · 23/05/2026 07:03

Which heatwave perfumes are you wearing? I normally go for aquatic like Replica's or Molecule 02 but I'm wondering if I should skip perfume all together? I put 2 to 3 sprays. I'm just getting dressed for the day and wondering if it would be fine or rude to put perfume as I'll be on public transport in this hot weather. What do you think?

I'm surprised you've made it to adulthood and need to ask these questions.
Do what you want. There are no rules. Just don't stink on the public transport.

BlackCat14 · 23/05/2026 07:15

I had no idea heatwave perfume was a thing! I’ll continue to wear my usual Jo Malone.

MummaMiaWhatHaveIDone · 23/05/2026 07:17

Obviously I say perfume as a shorthand for everything fragrance like eau de toilette etc 😄

I like the Estée Lauder bronze goddess but it’s too expensive for me now. I have picked up a couple of dupes over the years from Zara and Next.

Sparkletastic · 23/05/2026 07:41

Arizona Bloom by Floral Street
Ô de Lancôme
Soleil de Feu by Tom Ford

ZanyMaker · 23/05/2026 07:41

I wear Calvin Klein ‘Women’ perfume all year round. It’s never occurred to me to adjust my perfume seasonally. Watching with interest to see if this is a known thing!

JudgementalCat · 23/05/2026 07:42

It's a throwback, but I love L'eau d'Issey in the heat.

LancashireButterPie · 23/05/2026 08:20

Guerlain's Aqua allegoria, mandarin and basil, so much nicer than Jo Malone.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 23/05/2026 08:27

I skip it altogether in summer - or go with a very very light spritz, there’s nothing worse than being in a hot space with someone else’s perfume - hellooooo migraine

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 23/05/2026 09:34

Just avoid the heavier scents-i was in school last week and the Baccarat Rouge types are still going strong. I go for cologne and eau de toilettes. Don't last long, but if you feel a bit hot and sweaty a quick splash or spray(away from other people) makes you feel better without building up intensity. Good old 4711 is lovely.

No heatwave here in NE Scotland but in warm weather I like Glossier You, Le Labo Neroli, and Heeley Sel Marin. Also no bank holiday Monday here!

managingexpectations · 23/05/2026 13:50

I wear Tom Ford Neroli Portofino on really hot sunny days. It’s such a light and fresh smell it’s not overpowering at all. I love it.
I actually picked up an Aldi dupe and it’s the one I chuck in my bag so I don’t lose the expensive one

Picassosdove · 23/05/2026 14:33

Liz Earle no 1 , Aqua di Parma Colonia or VB Portofino

I have different perfumes according to seasons but I'm a total perfume nerd and have a lot. I actually put away my autumn/winter perfumes at the start of April and bring them out again mid October.

For very, very hot days I like:
Miller Harris - Tea Tonique: lemony earl grey
Miller Harris - Found At Dusk: fresh melon green fabulousness
Calvin Klein - Reveal: ozonic seaside
Nancy Meiland Eglantier: more seaside
Nancy Meiland - Lupin Meadow: light floral
Maisons Louis Marie - Nouvelle Vague: tropical beach
Heeley - Sel Marin: Atlantic beach
Tauer - L"Air Des Alpes Suisses: fresh mountains
Glossier - Orange Blossom Neroli (evening): sultry floral
Electimuss - Mercurial Cashmere (evening only): sensuous tuberose, heady madness.

I’ve pulled out
next - summer sun
DKNY woman (this is the coldest perfume I own and was my scent at Uni!)
replica - beach walk
Bobbi brown - beach
jil sander - sun
imaginary authors - falling into the sea

Blarn · Yesterday 00:37

I like Calvin Klein Contradiction in summer. Slightly orangy. Or Anias Anias - retro but great in very hot weather.

Nivea sun is gorgeous I’ve just discovered it for this summer, it smells like holidays!

I absolutely love the suggestion! I will be researching and buying some of your recommendations, thank you very much for humoring me 😄

I have a Peach body mist by Phlur that lives in my gym bag, it’s really refreshing and quite a zesty light summer scent.
as for perfumes though I tend to just wear the same 2 all year round so not seasonal.

Turnitoffnonagain · Yesterday 12:06

A nice cheapy for hot weather is Elizabeth Arden green tea. I keep a bottle in the fridge for a cooling spritz.

I didnt know this was a thing until now, im going to have to buy some. Hawaiian Tropic body sprays are amazing too they smell just like the sun cream 😊

ParadiseIsNoBunker · Yesterday 12:18

Clarins Eau Dynamisante is a fresh ‘splash’ of a herbal / citrus scent. Lovely kept in the fridge for hot days.

Also love Michael by Michael Korrs. Tuberose, creamy, tropical and deep. Great for summer evenings. Discontinued now, so I cherish my bottle.

And of course, Bronze Goddess - the original formulation is still by far the best. Always and forever!

Magpiecomplex · Yesterday 12:24

I'm wearing L'Occitane Verveine today. Light and cheerful.

Jemimapuddleduk · Yesterday 12:41

I love Dior j’adore l’or or Estée Lauder bronze goddess when the sun is out
