Sezane - Worth it? How to style this dress?

Shambles123 · 20/05/2026 08:37

Hi!

Is sezane worth the money?!

I am size 10 - inverted triangle shape with boobs if that makes any difference.

For garden party type event how would people style this dress?!

That's beautiful - O find Sezanne excellent quality. I'd wear the floral dress with mid height rose gold block heeled sandals and a clutch

Ophy83 · 20/05/2026 09:40

Absolutely beautiful dress. I have a couple of things from Sezane - a winter dress and a blouse, both lovely quality.

I'd probably wear with a tan or light coloured leather bag - small but large enough to carry sunglasses, a small suncream, phone and lipstick - and try out either my existing gold esska charlies or tan leather sandals to see which looked best. A light coloured blazer or jacket may be handy depending on weather forecast

StationJack · 20/05/2026 11:48

Is sezane worth the money?! No.

Thundertoast · 20/05/2026 11:49

I was so disappointed with Sezane, I dont find the quality to be any different from some bits of H&M/&Other Stories really

OhThePotential · 20/05/2026 12:02

I’d say no, even if I liked it that’s not something I’d pay £165 for.

Its the buttons, I think.

If you’ve already bought it then rose gold sandals, a chiffon jacket / topper (I’d at least want the option to cover my arms at a garden party) and a clutch would go with it.

unsevered67 · 20/05/2026 13:45

The dress is gorgeous. I buy frequently from Sezane and it’s on my wishlist . I would say that it’s better quality than Other Stories, and much better than H&M.
I would wear it wth nude/ pink / cream sandals .
If you look up reviews some people are saying that it comes up a bit big and it’s low cut

Shambles123 · 20/05/2026 14:21

Thank you all! Mixed opinions.. Im going to keep looking with this on my shortlist!

I’d say some items are worth the money. That dress is gorgeous and I would wear it with tan strappy sandals from Penelope Chilvers. They’re called Shepherdess.

Corknut · 20/05/2026 16:53

I love Sézane but mainly for knitwear. I don’t personally like Sézane dresses normally, just not my style - although I will say that one you’ve linked is particularly nice!

Candleabra · 20/05/2026 18:26

I really like that dress.
I’ve had my eye on a couple of blouses from sezanne, I’m very tempted though not sure I can justify the cost…. I visited the Marylebone shop recently and they had lots of nice things (i still so much prefer seeing clothes in real life)

TheChosenTwo · 20/05/2026 18:52

I like their knitwear and shirts and have a couple of dresses, they’re well made and I look after the knitwear.
whether or not something is worth it is subjective, that dress wouldn’t be worth it to me because I wouldn’t wear it, I don’t like florals or sleeveless so it would be wasted on me but it’s versatile and could be dressed up or down easily so if you can see yourself wearing it a lot it will be totally worth it to you.

notacooldad · 20/05/2026 19:12

I love that dress.
Now whether by big fat ass and wide hips would suit it is another thing bit it is gorgeous!

MabelMoo23 · 20/05/2026 19:25

i love Sezane, I wear their blouses because many of them are 100% cotton

I’m sick of paying for plastic shite

whyisthissodifficultforme · 20/05/2026 19:46

I have quite a few bits from sezane and the quality has been consistently good. Mainly natural fibres which wear and wash well (like mabelmoo23 I’m well over paying for plastic clothes , especially when they’re ££££££). Palome is a similar quality for less money but their range isn’t as wide sadly (I don’t think they have anything like this dress).

I was looking at the same dress in the polka OP - the description about “side cut outs” put me off although I can’t see what they mean from the photos so wonder if it’s a mistake on the listing?!

Strandas · 20/05/2026 20:16

The dress really emphasises the chest and shoulders and minimises the lower half. I think it makes the model look quite broad.

AAAAYY · 20/05/2026 21:58

I agree with poster up thread who says it very like Other Stories, the quality isn't terrible but not brilliant and style wise not much different to anything you get from Zara, H&M etc. I do like that they use a lot of natural materials though.

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 20/05/2026 22:06

I love the Sea NY collab they did and have quite a lot of pieces but the quality of the mainline has been patchy and I have only kept 1 thing I got very cheap on Vinted. I sent back a cardie that was very thin and would obviously bobble, a dress that was thin and had no lining, also mixed fibre, and some shorts that were a weird fit! The quality of the collab was more akin to the Sea New York mainline which is quite pricey - I get it on Vinted 😂I am 5' 4" and a size 8 and I think it is all made for taller people!

BadBadCat · 20/05/2026 22:20

Sezane quality is nothing like H&M! I have a few beautiful blouses and coats from Sezane- all are lovely. I would say the quality is more similar to Baukjen or Hobbs or maybe Boden. Better than Hush and Other Stories and definitely better than H&M, Nobodys Child, and Zara.

I would say not worth the money at full price though and to wait for the archive!

Saying that though, I have bought things at full price if I've really loved them and because they are so nice I've worn them enough to justify the price- even if they weren't necessarily worth it for the quality.

ohwhatthehelly · 20/05/2026 22:23

It looks like overpriced Nobody’s Child. But I have fat ass / small boobs so maybe not in the demographic for this, it looks frumpy to me, I need structure to look good.

I was thinking of dropping by next time I'm in London - how is the vibe in the store?

There's something about the online listing that has me worried it'll be a bit snooty and I (just a nondescript middle aged woman) will feel out of place.

It’s fine, a nice shop. The whole high street is good, well worth a trip.

Yes! What side cut outs? Am also baffled and have not ordered (yet at least).

That will not work for me then!

For the same cost, you could buy from Boden, Hobbs, Jigsaw, L K Bennett, or Me&Em (more £££.) Even Nobody's Child has some nice stuff (but I need sleeves.)

It's a nice dress but there are lots of dresses around at the moment.

Manchegomango · 21/05/2026 09:24

The side cutouts is because they've used AI for their translations.
What they mean is like panels if you get what i mean. There are no cutouts
