Erm… No

inmyheadimthequeen · 18/05/2026 23:21

I love it

Bigearringsbigsmile · 18/05/2026 23:22

Completely inappropriate

£90 for a secondhand dress that looks like the offspring of a macramé plant holder and a lace dolly? In a size 12, when you are a 6?

LiquidSquid · 18/05/2026 23:57

Is it a relaxed kind of wedding? Do you know what others are wearing?

If not, then I'd say 'No'.

You could have a look on New Look. Lots of Pink atm.

I think it’s lovely, I think it’s suitable for a marquee in a pubs grounds. Plus with your height and size you’ll look stunning 🤗

mathanxiety · 19/05/2026 00:19

In a different colour, yes. That blush is too close to white imo.

EleanorMc67 · 19/05/2026 02:57

Is it this Maje one? It's pretty, in a very girlish way. Not helped by the model & styling in the second picture, but it looks fine in the first one. I don't normally think age should be relevant, but this is the kind of dress that would IMO look inappropriate on someone older as it's somewhat childlike.

I'm not sure it's quite right for a wedding, it's pretty but more something to wear for casual. Do you have some other options?

No it isn’t.

It’s a lovely dress, but you have to look be young enough to carry it off.

This is one of those where it looks better on a person, isn't it!

Looks lovely.

Thanks for your thoughts! I’ve found it in a size 6, I’m petite (not curvy) and in my 30s.
the wedding is going to be a bit of a festival vibe I think. Definitely looks better irl..

It looks like a dress my neice would play tennis in, in the height of summer. I like it, but I dont think it's wedding-y. Although maybe at a festival vibe wedding , it'd be ok?

Eucatastrophilia · 19/05/2026 06:18

Did they run out of dye? It’s such a drab, indistinct colour.

I don’t like it but wouldn’t find anything to object to in another guest wearing it. Can’t understand why anyone would think it ‘inappropriate’, in fabric or structure.

I think it's fine then.

Do you know what shoes etc you are wearing with it?

Rozbos · 19/05/2026 06:39

I have a very similar dress from Maje and it’s beautiful, I think it will look much better in real life.

Strandas · 19/05/2026 06:41

I don’t think it looks child-like. It looks like a normal dress and fine for a wedding. I think it’s great for a more relaxed pub wedding, it’s not going to stand out, it looks comfortable, and you can eat without being uncomfortable as it’s very loose on the stomach. I also don’t think you need to be very young to wear it!

TwinkleTwinkleX · 19/05/2026 06:42

I do love Maje 😊

Ooh I think strappy metallics will look great!

TwinkleTwinkleX · 19/05/2026 06:50

I’m also looking at this Sandro dress? I’m quite flat chested so looks a bit longer on me

You like drab colours! No shade (SWIDT?) intended - we all see things differently.

Again, the design is unobjectionable.

Pickledonions12 · 19/05/2026 07:34

I like the second dress more than the first. The colours are very muted. I'm guessing that a good fake tan would lift the whole look

TwinkleTwinkleX · 19/05/2026 08:36

Curve ball but there’s also this.. not sure if it’s a bit too ‘party’? Again it looks longer on me..

All sweet but showing a lot of skin. Do you burn? Team with a jacket or pashmina. They all remind me of flowergirl dresses.
