Where to buy good quality plain T-shirts?

Hi all,

With summer approaching, I am looking for the best place to buy quality plain T-Shirts. I have bought them from Primark and H&M in the past, but they didn't last very long and the colour faded after only a couple of washes.

I am a size 16 and prefer a loose-fitting T-shirts rather than tight ones. I also would like to buy a range of colours, not just White and Black.

Uniqlo

RampantIvy · 14/05/2026 05:32

M and S now have some really thick cotton ones. Also, try looking at men's T-shirts.

Uniqlo are good as well.

Def Uniqlo. Limited colour choices though I always feel.

Agree about the colours. I love Uniqlo but so many of their sludgy colours don't suit me.

Arket, Cos

catcatcat24 · 14/05/2026 06:49

Uniqlo is great.

I wish they did a scoop neck women’s T.

I like the T-shirts from Rapanui.
Has anyone bought from Colourful* Standard before? They have a great range of colours and shapes.

Next do one called heavyweight cotton T shirt in lots of colours online. I have a few and really like the quality

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 14/05/2026 07:30

Cos are good for really thick cotton. For lighter weight but still good quality, like @IgneococcusI recommend Rapanui. They often do deals on bundles if you’re buying 3 or 5, and have a good range of colours. Personally I find M&S cotton t shirts too clingy/stretchy but they usually have linen ones that are looser (although fewer colours to choose from).

I agree with Rapanui
I have a sweatshirt from Colourful Standard which is excellent quality

LemonyCurd · 14/05/2026 10:34

I really like Toast’s. They last so well

BestestBrownies · 14/05/2026 14:52

As ppl have already mentioned, Uniqlo t-shirst are great quality, thicker cotton. Highly recommend.

For a more budget-friendly option, George at Asda men's t-shirts are amazing value and wash well.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 14/05/2026 14:57

M&S - more expensive ones. Cos. Maybe Arket too.

The premium heavy weight t shirts from New Look are surprisingly good. I especially like the grown on sleeve version. https://www.newlook.com/uk/search?text=premium+t-shirt&searchPos=1&searchEntered=premium+t&searchType=auto&sort=&filter=&page=1

Yes, they are. Why not read around their website - you’ll learn more about how and where they make the clothes?

If you’ve really never heard of Patrick Grant you’re missing out!

Ooh. I like those.

This is my preferred basic round-neck T-shirt. I don't like the neck to be a really high tight round-neck, but I don't want a scoop-neck either. I have several colours purchased over the years - & may purchase a khaki one now!

Yes, I've seen the M&S t shirts in person.
