I love it and ChatGPT Is telling me to go for it but worried it will be too casual! Was planing on wearing gold pointed toe shoes clutch and gold jewellery and wearing hair up. For a wedding in July in a hotel in Iteland.

im 37 size 12 5’9

if it's a cold day the tie back will look like a hump if you need to wear a blazer or jacket of some sort

A boxy, cropped jacket with a bit of a swing at the back will be fine. I have jackets that would go over that dress.

This is an example of sort of shape.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to look and reply! I will wear it! Also on the bra questions, I have those bra cup thingies to put in the bust and my local seamstress just pops them in! The tie at the back also is really supportive but double knot is needed

It's a beautiful dress but when is the wedding? Surely you will need a jacket or cover up for the ceremony and in case it gets cold? Then the beautiful back would be covered up and the ties at the back might look odd hanging out of the bottom of a jacket. If you can style it then go for it.

Where is that from please? I love it.

DeftGoldHedgehog · Yesterday 07:56

It's lovely. I would have a nice white jacket handy in case the hotel has fierce aircon though.

It’s right there in the very short op 😂

op, it’s lovely definitely wear it, I’d wear a navy velvet blazer over the top,

No!!!! Please!!!! No bolero! They are dead dead dead! It’s a great dress - don’t spoil it. No idea why anyone thinks it’s too casual - it would be for black tie and morning suit type weddings but a summer wedding in a barn or a casual church wedding - it’s fine.

I was coming to say this exact thing! 🤣 I dont think it need any sort of cover up anyway. It's fab!

Oops! Apologies. For a wedding in Ireland in July op will definitely need to take a cover up for the ceremony and potentially for the weather. I would also say a navy blazer might work depending on the blazer. Velvet might be too warm for July.

@Owly11 and @Backawayfromthesausage this is gold!! 😅🤣🤣Also LOVE the idea of a navy velvet blazer how fab would that be?! Thank you so much

If you love it get it & wear it OP! I don't think you'd need a cover up, July is usually fairly mild. Maybe a brolly if outside incase of rain!

SilverHeadband · Yesterday 09:05

OMG op but it has some white on it. People might think you are the bride!!

Only joking ;-) Lovely dress and lovely print. Not too casual at all. Enjoy the wedding in it!

Twoshoesnewshoes · Yesterday 09:10

It is a bit casual but agree a blazer would be good, as well as heels.
i have a tie back dress - i took a big safety pin, when it turned cooler I undid the knot, passed the ends of the ties around the the front so the back was flat, then overlapped them and pinned (hidden) at the front.

Runningupthathill889 · Yesterday 09:14

@babasaclover its fromH&M!! I’ve never worn a H&M dress to a wedding before so maybe thats part of the reason for asking if it’s too casual 🤣🤣
