Is this a wedding guest dress or too casual?!

I love it and ChatGPT Is telling me to go for it but worried it will be too casual! Was planing on wearing gold pointed toe shoes clutch and gold jewellery and wearing hair up. For a wedding in July in a hotel in Iteland.

I think it’s quite casual, unless it’s a baking hot day. Nice dress though. More of a holiday dress. .

Runningupthathill889 · 25/04/2026 20:16

@Silverbirchleaf yea it feels like just a really pretty holiday dress but I jus love the colours and how comfortable it is!! Need to find something similar

Personally I think it’s beautiful and would go for it - especially if you are styling it in that way

Runningupthathill889 · 25/04/2026 20:21

Thank you @Namechangedforthis25 ! Maybe it will all come down to the styling and accessories!

I'm in Ireland and I think its lovely and suitable for a wedding here especially as it's not in a church.

InconvenientlyMaterial · 25/04/2026 20:22

I'd go for it! It's gorgeous.

TwelvePinkDolphins · 25/04/2026 20:25

I think it’s lovely and perfect for a July wedding.

NewMauveSwan · 25/04/2026 20:27

I think it’s lovely, perfect for a wedding, and if you feel good in it, it will look even better!

decorationday · 25/04/2026 20:27

Totally misread that and thought you were proposing this as your own wedding dress (in which case I was all set to be supportive).

I think it's perfectly nice as a guest dress too.

WhatAMarvelousTune · 25/04/2026 20:37

You ask ChatGPT about a dress??

I agree with PPs, it’s fine for a normal (ie not really formal black tie dress code) summer wedding.

dudsville · 25/04/2026 20:46

Lovely dress and great choice for a summer wedding!

Runningupthathill889 · 25/04/2026 20:52

Yes @WhatAMarvelousTune ! It’s actually really good at choosing outfits and accessories and if you give it the clothes that you own it suggest new ways to wear them.

Lovely summery dress, go for it.

Everlil · 25/04/2026 20:53

Perfect outfit.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 25/04/2026 20:54

It’s fine for a more casual wedding. Take some form of cover up if you are outside quite late.

Denim4ever · 25/04/2026 20:55

I like it but wonder how it works with a bra and if it's a cold day the tie back will look like a hump if you need to wear a blazer or jacket of some sort

agatamum · 25/04/2026 20:56

I think it’s perfect. Wear it with a wee bolero style cardigan or a wrap, with high heels

7238SM · 25/04/2026 20:59

If it was a beach wedding in Thailand, its perfect. For me, its too casual for a wedding otherwise.

On a separate note and only because I have massive boobs, do you have a bra you can wear with such a low back or would you be going without?

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 25/04/2026 21:03

No!!!! Please!!!! No bolero! They are dead dead dead! It’s a great dress - don’t spoil it. No idea why anyone thinks it’s too casual - it would be for black tie and morning suit type weddings but a summer wedding in a barn or a casual church wedding - it’s fine.

mathanxiety · 25/04/2026 21:05

Lovely and very appropriate.

Bring a wrap as weather can be unpredictable.

TallagallaPenguin · 25/04/2026 22:06

I think it’s lovely and entirely dressy enough for a wedding. Your styling sounds great too. Love the colours.

BridgetJonesV2 · 25/04/2026 22:34

Church wedding, no. Summer barn/venue wedding, yes.

willowstar · Yesterday 04:38

Absolutely perfect for a summer wedding in a hotel I think. Lovely dress.

Duckies · Yesterday 06:24

Perfect! If this was your 'casual' you'd be a very chic woman.

Mmmkaay · Yesterday 06:27

I really love it! Can't imagine why anyone would say unsuitable for a wedding unless it was black tie. I think the way you would accessorise it is perfect.
