Plain White Crew Neck T Shirt Recommendations

I’m looking to purchase a plain white t-shirt that will be a wardrobe staple. Something I can dress up for work and dress down for the weekend. Prefer a crew neck. Anyone have any recommendations for ones that fit and sit well but also wash well? For reference I am a size 12/14 UK. Thank you MN!

Go to Primark. I was surprised at the quality and they fit really well.

The M&S Autograph ones are excellent. They are £30 but I think they are worth every penny. Thick cotton and fit beautifully and wash well. I have them in black and white.

I swear by the Uniqlo ones. Really thick and good quality.

Likewise. I find they last just as long as the ones I had from M&S, Boden and Me+em but were under £5 each!

I’m wearing a tu one, they come up a bit big, I could do with a size 6. But it has washed well and it’s a good length.

Bought two from Uniqlo recently.

Primary ones go baggy and saggy in the neck line after a few washes and look like boiled dishcloths
Got one a few weeks back from John Lewis £14 and it is a decent cut with good weight cotton

I have a navy blue relaxed style T shirt from Unfolded that I love so much I ordered one in white. And I'm not usually a t shirt wearer. The white one will be my fourth item from Unfolded, and though they do take a while to arrive, I've been very impressed with their quality so far.

Thank you everyone! Unfortunately I don’t have a Primark near me so that’s not an option. I’ll look into a few of the other suggestions!

Next have a nice one that's only £7.50. I have quite a few of them and they wash well.

For those that have given recommendations, can you confirm that they are thick enough not to see your bra through?

H&M oversized t-shirt is perfect imo and has a good weight. I size up from M to L (I’m size 12) because I prefer a looser fit, but regular size would be ok for most people. I have it in several colours including white. Costs £9.99.

I second Next their T-shirts are thick cotton, wash well and not costly. I’m in my second year of a batch I bought and they wash up like new.

I genuinely don’t find that to be true.

The new Victoria Beckham collar with Gap is due tomorrow-and apparently has the perfect crew neck white t shirt for £25.

They do. I've got a load of white crew neck T-shirts from Primark, Cos, White Label and Mint Velvet and they all look the same.

@WednesdaysChild73 you definitely cannot see a bra through the Uniqlo U crew neck ones. They also don't pill at all, unlike some I've had from other brands.

Avoid anything described as "slub" as they are often see-through.

I bought 6 of these last summer and was very pleased with them. I have just bought another six as I have lost a lot of weight, but the original ones are still just fine.
