Lovely new niche scented thread ready for our April box.

The answer is: lots, apparently🙀

BurningTheToast · 14/07/2026 18:33

I'm very pleased with my box except for the lipliner because I simply never wear it. I do wear lippy sometimes (MAC Teddy Bear or CT Pillow Talk and there's a Bobbie Brown berryish one somewhere) but mostly it's a bit of LE Velatura balm in Rose Madder and I'm done.

I know this is a stupid question - but is it worth using a lipliner? And do I need to go and buy the matching lippy to go with it? Maybe it should just go on Vinted?

Have added Adelphi Sun onto my list of hints to pass on to DH, DS and FiL for Christmas...

Thanks for the lipliner tips!

Thanks @Beautyfox - I am now wondering how many of my dozens of lip products have titanium dioxide in them 🙀

Sorry it’s a bit of a rabbit hole. However, I think it can be quite harsh in its ratings and I still use anything that is rated poor on the yuka app I just don’t rebuy. I do stay clear of things rated bad but they are much rarer but do pop up in surprising places. It’s a fab free app if you haven’t got it but make sure you read the details of why it’s rated things. For some it’s because it’s an irritant but if it doesn’t irritate me I ignore that.

IlovePond · 14/07/2026 18:37

@BurningTheToast I don’t usually wear lip liner. However, I sometimes put lipstick on and then sort of colour/smudge in round the edges with a lipliner. It creates quite a good effect.

It was someone on a make up counter who suggested this to me. Probably everyone always does this already, but it was news to me. (I had been taught in my youth to put the liner on first - that never went well!)

I quite like to use a lip liner around the edge then smudge some over the rest of my lips and put a lip balm on over the top. I find this less drying than lipstick and my lips are always a mess.

IlovePond · 14/07/2026 18:44

I have just checked all my many many lip products and it seems to be in all of them 😿

The app does recommend alternatives if it’s something you want to avoid. Elf lip liner seems to do well so does a Dior lip balm.

Thanks @Campingintherain2024 - I’ll give that a go

OvaHere · 14/07/2026 20:04

I've been wearing the lip liner today. Very pleased with it. Great colour and pigmentation plus it's one that can be smudged quite a bit so good on it's own with a bit of gloss or balm.

Hopefully we'll get a few more items like this going forward. I know not everyone is keen on make up but even just one box out of the year having some luxe make up would be nice.

WhiskyandWater · 14/07/2026 20:28

Absolutely loved this box, very excited about the shampoo and conditioner - nice to have a matching pair.

WindsurfingDreams · 14/07/2026 23:03

I liked the box. I love the shampoo and conditioner and had been meaning to buy more so that was a win.
My heart sank when I saw the LBTY perfume as I hadn't liked any of the ones we had had so far, but this one is actually lovely and I am tempted to buy some

UntamedShrew · 14/07/2026 23:45

Late to the party as was away when my box arrived.

I am delighted with it :)

dandeliondandy · 15/07/2026 14:06

I loved the Adelphi Sun perfume sample, such a lovely green scent so perfect for really hot summer days as it isn't sickly sweet or cloying. Loved the full size Beauty Pie drops and used last night. Shampoo/Conditioner are generous travel size and smell lovely. I know it is a tough ask for Liberty to be able to please all of the people all of the time but the Westman Atelier was totally the wrong colour. I have fair cool-neutral skin and on me it pulled like a dirty, rusty oxblood colour as though I was off to a Hallowe'en ball so that was a real shame but will pass on to a friend with a warmer skin tone. Overall, I liked the box and the value aspect but that lipliner only works for certain skin tones so perhaps something more neutral next time? A mascara, a colourless highlighter?

PuzzlingRecluse · 15/07/2026 14:13

Mine arrived late I love it, really pleased with this box. I must be one of the few people to have not tried the AB cream - my skin looks great - off to scour vinted & eBay for more! It’s a brilliant box the perfume doesn’t sit right on me but I gave it to my neighbour & she loves it. Good work liberty

Hicupping · 15/07/2026 17:22

Lip liner smooches really well with lip balm.

Fillybuster · 15/07/2026 17:40

This was my first BD box & I was pleasantly surprised, especially after all the noise around the last one! I already use niacinamide daily, so although I don’t need the BP product, it’s definitely a nice thing to include at full size. Looking forward to playing with / trying everything else!

The GA offer (in store only, from tomorrow) was the only one that I really wanted. Sod’s Law I was on Carnaby St for work today and can’t get back again this week. I stopped by on my way home from work and they very kindly allowed me to take the offer this afternoon ahead of time.

It’s an amazing offer, but oh my….The box is HUGE! I wasn’t expecting to have to lug something that size home on the tube 🤣 Incredible value for £40 spend - I bought a handcream & lip balm, and used my BD money so it “only” cost me £26

Oh, I'd have loved the GA box but I couldn't make time to get in there today - was over at Canary Wharf and I'm back off home to Cornwall now 😔

I thought this went live on 17th and have booked a day out in London to take advantage of it. I hope they have some left when I get there- it looks great.

OvaHere · 15/07/2026 19:49

@Fillybuster that does look fabulous. I'm not really a fan of GA but it's a really good deal if you are.

BIossomtoes · 15/07/2026 21:24

Once again, no bloody email - can anyone link me to the GA box? I’m in London on Friday.

They haven’t advertised this at all, it is in the Beauty Drop week promotional terms and conditions. In store only.

But I haven’t had anything about the BD week - I wouldn’t have even known it was happening if it wasn’t for this thread.

MrsBnow12 · 15/07/2026 21:44

I don’t believe it has been advertised as such, this is in the terms and conditions.

Thank you @MrsBnow12. I appreciate it. It will give me the opportunity to complain again for the umpteenth time about not getting emails.
