On a related note:

I gave the awful, (imo), Swimming Pool Bibbi sample from the Liberty BD to my friend yesterday, only to then be forced to spend rather a long time trying, (and failing), to explain to her that it wasn’t made from chlorinated water.

I tried to tell her that these niche perfumes often have particularly silly names, completely unrelated to their composition, but I was wasting my breath!

The name puts me off 🤣

Tbf it smelt a bit bleach-y on me so it may as well be chlorinated water!

I LOVED the other fragrance though and lots of people hated that so swings and round abouts.

Fragrance is an odd thing. There are lots that I really don’t like at all including all the bibi but I’ve never smelt a perfume on someone else and thought I really don’t like that or felt repulsed. Maybe sometimes I’ve found perfumes on others over powering/quite strong but never repulsive in smell.

The same perfume on my daughter smells so different on me. It's really odd.

I have two words for you - Dior Poison 🤢

@HaveYouHadYourBreak - so true - I have sprayed all the Bibbi perfumes in Liberty and loathed all of them.

Ditto most of Creed. But I passed a Creed sample that smelt like mould on me, DH and DS1, onto my friend and on her it actually smelt ok.

It’s so strange how it all depends on body chemistry as well as preference.

It’s vile, I had to get out of tube carriage once because someone was wearing it. The worst of all though is Bandit, it literally smells like shit.

I hated swimming pool last year when I first tried it, on trying the recent sample I realized I loved it! So be prepared for your nose tastes to change over time, mine have.

It's an acquired taste I will say.

Vanilla Salt Ellis Brooklyn. It's nice but I probably will pass it on, too sweet for me.

I actually enjoy it more then I thought, as long as I don't put my nose very close to my wrist (where I sprayed). I only have travel and I am going to keep it.

It's time to release some good sets, isn't it. Few more months and it will be advent season again 😂

Poison was awful, so heavy. I used to feel I was getting a headache every time I smelt it (which was frequent back in the day)

Why oh why do we get things (either drop box or advent calendar) and then when we go to buy them they have stopped stocking it?? I’ve been debating whether to buy myself the Irene Forte hibiscus night cream and when I’ve gone on they no longer have it listed. Only the serum. What’s the point of saving up and then finding the thing you want isn’t available. The thing they introduced you to?😔

I'm wearing the Sana Jardin Air of Aquarius from a Beauty Drop box today & it's so gorgeous. Definitely a spring/summer scent. I'm going to investigate Swimming Pool this weekend - I'd saved it for warmer weather.

I sold the Aquarius for peanuts on eBay as that was yet another niche perfume I didn’t like. I have come to the conclusion that I am just not a niche/super expensive perfume person.

An exception was the vanilla powder from the a/c which grew on me.

I also liked the tiny sample of Dear Polly that was in my first BD. Sadly I loathe the Sparkling Jo from the a/c which grew- on me it smells like I have thrown lager over myself!

The Aquarius is sooo light and airy ( I do like it!). I also like Swimmng Pool which I know is controversial… am wearing it today. But I also don’t get on with Vanilla powder or any of the Vilhelm perfumes as there is something in there my nose picks up on immediately.

I’ve just been sent an email for a gwp which I think might have been the one out earlier this week or last - spend £300 for £390 worth of product: every single one of which I have seen multiple times before. No thank you.

I absolutely love Sana Jardin fragrances, even though they only last 5 minutes on me.

I'm undecided about Swimming Pool. It smells of toothpaste at first spritz on me, but it does settle quickly into something very fresh and quite pleasant. I'll use the sample, but wouldn't purchase.
