No show socks (again)

Not the most exciting topic and I’m sure
it pops up often, particularly with spring/summer approaching, but please could I have your recommendations for no show socks that:
1 actually don’t show, either with trainers or lower cut shoes, like ballerinas
2 stay put at the back without creeping off
3 offer sizes up to mine, ie, 7.5 - 8
TIA !

Stance no show socks are genuinely the only ones that have ever stayed on my feet and I have tried approximately one million others. They do larger sizes too.
Primark ones are weirdly decent for the price if you want a bulk buy option, though they do occasionally make a bid for freedom.
The ones to avoid in my experience are any of the generic multipack Amazon ones - they look fine but they will be round your arch within ten minutes, very annoying.

I wear the m&s no-show ones, black and white, and they're perfect. As to being old fashioned - my ankles (and feet) are stupendously slim and shapely and I like to show them off.

I swear by the primark ones. They are really good and last ages.

Jormatt 6 Pairs No Show Socks... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07P9J43BT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

i really rate these. Work with my trainers and loafers but not ballet flats. I put a pantry liner for absorption in the bottom of those and go sockless

As I said on the other thread, my answer is… no socks. Even though lots of people think it’s very wrong, and I know it’s not for everybody, I go sockless in spring and summer a lot, in my comfy trainers, it doesn’t seem to worry my feet.

Primark sports no show socks are my go to.
I am an 8-9 shoe. They only start to fall down when they are by their best. These ones specifically - they come in different colours:

However, they only work with trainers not ballerinas. I’ve never ever found any that work with them.

@endoflevelbaddy panty liner in a ballet flat...what a brilliant concept!

endoflevelbaddy · 10/04/2026 11:29

@Sara237works a treat, I buy black ones so they’re less noticeable and put them in my heels, flats and sandals.

Agree the primark ones are great, v stretchy, I'm a size 9 but can wear the women's larger size. Great for trainers, not good for ballet flats or loafer type shoes.

Unless you are younger than 40-something, I am jealous of your view - I am one of these people who can't get their head around something that was a total no no growing up and that is now on trend.

Teenage trauma - I'll never show my socks and never make my brows thicker on purpose, ever!

(Sorry for derailing the OP!)

Create your own trend! Patterned socks make me happy! I'm wearing some lovely blue herringbone ones this minute!

Chezron24 · 12/04/2026 19:02

I wear Bombas, they're perfect in every way. I get the lightweight ones and they're the only ones that don't move.
Not cheap, but well worth it

Please advise on any source of size 8+ socks that are anything but neutral or dark colours. I've been buying men's socks for years but they are so boring. I sometimes wear Seasalt men's socks, which can be a bit more interesting, but I need a high wool content in Winter and they fail on that count.

Re size: if looking in shops, look in the men's department to see if they do socks sized 6-9. Sainsbury's and M&S do.

I find women's 4-8 socks are a tight stretch for size 6.5 but men's 6-9 fit well without much stretch.

Aargh 😡nothing worse when you have bigger feet (maybe due to being tall) to be told to go to the men’s department- I don’t want to wear men’s ugly socks, I want to wear nice women’s socks in nice colours & patterns
