Description says cream. I love the dress but I don’t want to offend anyone

Goodness - what is the matter with people here nowadays? It’s as if you’ve lost all ability to interpret tone at all. It’s something others have complained of on other threads but this is a real illustration. Why on earth would you assume my casually jokey response was some intense, crackpot hostility?

Absolute madness!

Because a) it isn’t funny, so my mind didn’t leap to “joke” and b) I’ve seen enough of these threads to recognise the kind of nonsense that regularly crops up.

You can blame me for my interpretation of your tone, or you could just stop making crap comments.

Nude shoes and a dusky pink or sage green oversized blazer or black shoes and a cropped black boxy jacket and it would be absolutely fine as a guest

Not nude shoes. Bright pink or green flats.

Mogbiscuit · 05/04/2026 15:41

The colour is OK on its own, but the little net sleeves and so on are very bridal. Nope.

onetrickrockingpony · 05/04/2026 15:42

lol at some of these replies - so extreme!
OP it’s a gorgeous dress, in fact it’s very similar to the one I changed into for the disco bit of my wedding day. I hope you find something else you love!

FlicaBonnyLittleStar · 05/04/2026 16:18

It’s a lovely dress though…..but every time someone asks this question, it always is too white, too bridal etc.
But it’s lovely for some other event or day ( not funeral 🤣)

Oh yes you’re right that would look better !

MouseCheese87 · 05/04/2026 16:33

Yes it is.

DangoDays · 05/04/2026 17:23

Yeah way to bridal. Not a guest dress

Almondsundae · 05/04/2026 17:38

What about this it has similar embroidery?

Ive reported this post as MN policy is to discourage posters from correcting other people's grammar or spelling on the basis it is rude and not inclusive.

Sgreenpy · 05/04/2026 18:02

I think its fine for a wedding but apparently MN says no.

PippaToryFripp · 05/04/2026 19:41

Looks like an adult version of a flower girl dress.

Unless it's a low key civil wedding I think it is too, worn in the way suggested by
@Almondsundae

This. It is an entirely white dress.

Yes

There are a lot of threads recently with posters asking if they can wear some form of white dress to someone else's wedding. How hard can it be to just avoid the one colour associated with the bride?

FruAashild · 17/04/2026 09:00

Depends on the wedding and the bride's personal style. Church wedding, absolutely perfect. Registry wedding with bride with less conservative taste? Probably best to avoid.

I do think as more Americans post on MN the dislike of white dresses for weddings increases on these threads, it's much more of a faux pas there. 20 years agoin the UK unless you turned up in an actual wedding dress nobody would bat an eyelid at a white dress.
