Description says cream. I love the dress but I don’t want to offend anyone

I find a good rule to be: if you have to ask, then yes.

It’s a lovely dress though!

GreaterCassowary · 05/04/2026 12:27

Apart from the length that is very bridal.

PlattyCat · 05/04/2026 12:28

My rule is if you have to ask you probably will feel uncomfortable wearing it on the day so best to avoid

Ghostspritz · 05/04/2026 12:32

I don’t often get the fuss over some of the -is it too white, dresses for wedding guests. But even I think this one is a stretch too far.

watchingthishtread · 05/04/2026 12:42

If you have to ask the answer is yes.

NewDogOwner · 05/04/2026 12:43

Yes.

Snaletrale · 05/04/2026 12:43

Yes

MuffinCrumbs · 05/04/2026 13:06

I love this dress so much so I got it in black!
I think it's absolutely fine for a wedding, my sister in law wore it to mine and I didn't think it looked too bridal or for a bridesmaid as others here seem to think 🙄
If you like it go for it

I’m fairly relaxed about this sort of thing (on previous threads dresses others were saying no to I thought were fine) but I don’t think this is a good idea. It’s more than the colour…the embroidered mesh overlay makes it seem quite bridal. It is a lovely dress but not suitable for a wedding guest.

Lovernotafighter83 · 05/04/2026 13:12

It wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if you wore that to my wedding but then again, I wouldn’t care less if someone wore a white or cream dress or anything else. Im very relaxed. It’s a beautiful dress and I’d be guided by how the bride is.

BruisedNeckMeat · 05/04/2026 13:14

I have a similar style dress but MUCH more colourful from Adrianna Pappell. It’s my favourite. Maybe have a look there for something.

FeministThrowingAPrincessParty · 05/04/2026 13:14

Yes. Some brides wear dresses like that.

Almondsundae · 05/04/2026 13:18

Nude shoes and a dusky pink or sage green oversized blazer or black shoes and a cropped black boxy jacket and it would be absolutely fine as a guest

3luckystars · 05/04/2026 13:24

Yes it is and it’s a fairly simple thing to avoid.

ClaredeBear · 05/04/2026 13:24

It’s gorgeous but you risk being judged and shunned if you wear it.

Wildgoat · 05/04/2026 13:33

I’m assuming this is a joke, although to be fair, some women do appear to hear wedding and have an uncontrollable urge to dress up like they are the bride.

SevenYellowHammers · 05/04/2026 13:36

Love it but it’s like a 1970s rock star’s brides dress! Too weddingy. But definitely save for own wedding if not already!

SereneGoose · 05/04/2026 14:36

It is. But good on you for checking. As pp writes maybe if you can afford it get it for another occasion...

aWeeCornishPastie · 05/04/2026 14:36

Yes it is could even be worn as a wedding dress so don’t do it

I have absolutely no desire or urge to try be like the bride 🙄
As I have already said further back I will definitely find something else.
Like some others on here, maybe it’s because I wouldn’t care if someone wore this to my wedding.
obviously it’s not my wedding so I was asking on opinions
Now the majority think it’s a no no I will find something different

Thank you for everyone else who was a little more nicer about it

Agree with others, it’s a very pretty dress though! But I’ve had a couple of Chi Chi dresses in the past and the fabric quality and details are never the same as the photos

Hellieboar · 05/04/2026 15:06

Choose a different colour, but the style is just right for the occasion. I've seen the pink, blue and green ones on different wedding guests and they tie in nicely without being too bridesmaidy.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 05/04/2026 15:08

Its absolutely fine nothing like a bride/bridesmaid dress at all!

I wouldn't bat an eye if you wore it at my wedding!
I doubt anyone else would too.

Wear it.
