I have very kindly been given this lovely outfit - I really love it. I feel the cold and usually wear tights or socks unless I am somewhere very hot (where I would not wear a long sleeved top). Can anyone advise how I could style this with tights/socks or a more spring/autumn look?
Please don't come at me with urgh "frumpy" tights, I have ms and feel the cold all the time, acutely and cannot be bare legged in the UK. And I'd just really like to be able to wear this :)
Thanks so much

There is no picture (and I always wear tights too).

I don’t think you can in my opinion, sandals would only work

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 05/03/2026 12:23

@WednesdaysChild73 this is the issue - I would only wear sandals if it was too warm to wear the long sleeved top. I love it thou, I really love it :(

Could you still wear sandals but wear leggings or shorter footless tights underneath the skirt?
Otherwise I’m sure there are many chunky DM style shoes or sandals that would look fine. Or some ballet pumps?

Nicecatneighbour · 05/03/2026 12:29

I'd wear tan or light coloured mary Jane's with a low heel. 🤔

And skin toned opaque tights for warmth.

notatinydancer · 05/03/2026 13:04

Some knee high brown boots ? Or light beige suede cowboy boots?
It might be too summery and lightweight for boots though.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/03/2026 13:23

I’d wear converse type trainers with that. If you find them uncomfortable, the suede Adidas “Bold” trainers are very comfy.

That’s a lovely two piece, where is it from ?
if I had to wear tights / socks I’d go with a closed toe sling back

@BigGra , I think it's from Wiggy Kit | Luxury Womenswear | London-based Designer. If you do a reverse image search there's a daily telegraph article.

cannaethink · 05/03/2026 13:45

I’d do as a pp suggested and wear footless tights or leggings but pulled higher than the hem of the skirt so they weren’t seen. Then I think sandals would look best but nice socks and trainers or loafers would look fine too.
I think if you put a knitted jumper over the top then you could absolutely wear tights with this.

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 05/03/2026 14:11

yes it's old Wiggy Kit - about 6th hand but in lovely condition - DD bought it for me!

I will look at all the suggestions - thank you so much

Tan boots will look great with it. I am the queen of layering as I also feel the cold and would never wear sandals and bare legs unless it is really warm.

you could also wear a short sleeved scoop neck thermal top (those are a staple for me) and a tan coloured cardigan or jacket.

StylishAndBeautiful · 05/03/2026 14:22

Said I'd seen it before, didn't I.

Gold or Tan Mary Janes with delicate double straps and slight heels.

tinaabbot · 05/03/2026 14:30

I’d wear trainers, Addidas in a complimentary colour, or the more neutral colour ones

Newmeagain · 05/03/2026 14:40

something like that but without the hat

Newmeagain · 05/03/2026 14:41

Don’t know what happened to my image…

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 05/03/2026 14:42

@StylishAndBeautiful ahhh that poster has some great recommendations on loads of threads! I am glad she approves 😃

@Newmeagain thank you, yes I have thin cashmere body suits from Intimissi that I wear constantly under everything from Sept - June.
Feet are the worst though,I would rather sell the outfit than have cold feet and that is saying something!
