Do your disappearing tweezers ever re-materialise?

Mine don't.

I've spent hundreds over the years on new tweezers every time mine vanish never to reappear. I should buy shares in Tweezerman 🙄

I keep them about me at all times to tackle the meno chin hairs that sprout daily. They literally vanish into thin air from the general location of my person on the sofa.

Tweezers after tweezers after tweezers. Pink, blue, silver, gold, big ones, small ones, cheap ones, expensive ones. They all go and same way .

The fuckers almost never reappear. Not in the washing machine. Not in pockets. Not down the back of the sofa (I've checked) not in the vacuum cleaner (ditto).

Sometimes, the odd one will briefly pop back into existence in a make up bag or somewhere I've already searched, only to dematerialise again permanently after a few weeks.

I'd conservatively estimate that 50 of them have vanished in this house over the years, never to reappear!! Where are they all???

Does this happen to anyone else?

My lovely tweezers that I bought in the 90s disappeared and I found them years later in DH's laptop bag when he was emptying it out. I asked him what he needed them for but he didn't know. I no longer pluck my brows, but they're now kept in the pot of pencils and useful things on my desk.

I keep mine in one place and have a back up pair for holiday in my holiday make up bag. It’s empty apart from tweezers and an emery board as you always need one at some point. DH goes by know I gave any and if he needs tweezers we have s fairly ok pair in the drawer.

They vanish. It's Borrowers.

I have the opposite problem - mine seem to multiply. I have about eleven pairs which is at least 9 more than anyone needs. Perhaps yours have migrated to my house, OP

My best pair were bought 7 years ago on holiday in Rome. I'd forgotten to pack any and rushed in to the first store I saw. They are wonderful, bright green, even get the hairs that you can feel but not see. They were 'lost' for 2 days this week and I dont think I've ever looked for anything as thoroughly as I looked for them. I eventually found them tucked into the carpet edge under the radiator behind the sofa. 3 year old DGD is the chief suspect.

No! I thought it was just me. I still think about them often.

My DH probably has them. He's the culprit in my house.

Uses them for splinters. And never replaces them Hmm

Bedroomdilemmas113 · 24/01/2026 20:55

Yes. I either have zero pairs or 8 pairs.

I can’t move from zero to eight, it seems to happen with the combination of a lunar eclipse and 2 pixies mating. In the hands of the universe. It happens when it happens.

Mine stopped disappearing when I bought a bright pink pair - which is probably partly because I can spot them without my glasses on and partly because DDs can’t swipe them and pretend that they were theirs. I did the same with toenail clippers. I bought a pair with a pattern on so that DH knows they’re mine. Borrow my stuff all you want but put it back.
