If the River Island one is sold out, the blouse has a very similar feeling to ones available from Sezane, so perhaps you could get a similar one there.

FringeTime · 22/01/2026 08:46

That doesn’t make her a bad person.

I agree. Mumsnet doesn’t like parents that support their trans kids. They would rather they ignore their wishes, challenge them frequently and walk away if they continue to be trans. Most parents would love and support their children, but not this place.

ASeatNextToMe · 22/01/2026 07:41

She’s fully in on the trans ideology of trans women are women and refers to her son as ‘she’ 🙄🙄🙄

Until you actually have a loved one who feels they were born in the wrong body I’m not sure if you can really know how you’d act. Especially if it’s your much loved child. I wasn’t inviting your opinion on trans children just commenting that Emma seems lovely. If she’s supporting her child then it sounds like she’s being a decent mum.

Ophy83 · 22/01/2026 18:32

I have a very similar one from Sezane (Chlo in Rosewood - it is paler in reality than pictured on their website).

Moaningkimono · 22/01/2026 18:44

researchers3 · 22/01/2026 09:34

My god. How dare she have an opinion that differs to yours or offer support to her own child.

Until you've lived the life of a parent of a trans child I would refrain from commenting. For some children the struggle is very real indeed to be validated by their parents can make the difference between the child coping or not.

Lludmilla · 22/01/2026 12:27

For the love of Mike, do we have to have the trans debate shoehorned into every single MN thread?? There is a whole bloody forum to discuss these things on and you think a style and beauty thread about a flipping blouse is the place?

Quite.

LowdermilkPark · 22/01/2026 19:01

I always think she looks very lovely and youthful, but my friend saw her at some function before Christmas and said she looked terrible. 😂

ARunByFruiting · 22/01/2026 19:01

Emma is one of those women who has always looked young for her age, the kind of woman mn don't ever think exists!

My god. How dare she have an opinion that differs to yours or offer support to her own child.

Its not support, its harmful

If her child, or anyones anorexic or disordered child said 'Im fat, please let me join SW and WW and have WLI because ths is how I feel' - would you go along with it, would you talk in terms of calorie restriction in the house and buy low fat/diet foods to go along with the child's belief and feeling?

No you wouldnt.

She doesn’t look like she’s had any surgery. I think she’s very naturally beautiful

Pull the other one. All celebrities have surgery, especially ones who have been famous more for their appearance than anything else. That said, hers is much better done than most.

Gahr · 22/01/2026 20:24

explanationplease · 22/01/2026 18:50

Quite.

Thirded. I'm GC but this has nothing to do with the matter in hand.

pictoosh · 22/01/2026 07:24

She does. Pots of money, surgery, make up artists, hairdressers, personal trainers, stylists and a good basic canvas will do that for you.
Nice for Emma Bunton.
Bit of a stretch for the rest of us, sadly. Wish I had pots of money.

do you really think she's had surgery?? I always think she looks so natural

Okiedokie123 · 22/01/2026 22:16

TheToteBagLady · 22/01/2026 12:36

Agreed, and it’s nobody else’s business how she parents her children

So we shouldn’t care about any children except our own ever?

I bet you feel sad when you read about other examples of child abuse. Why not when it’s a parent going along with the nonsense that he can become she? Or the other way around. It’s incredibly damaging and very often with life long irreversible negative consequences. It’s child abuse.

I have. I guess that means I have the right to an opinion according to your logic (although admittedly a thread about a blouse isn’t ideal!) why are only parents of confused kids allowed an opinion?
I never encourage or endorsed, thankfully mine has now desisted.
I also didn’t encourage or endorse when they were anorexic which thankfully they desisted from. Because why would I?

Zov · 22/01/2026 23:20

She's gorgeous isn't she? Always was so pretty (and still is!) Seems so nice too. Hope you get this blouse @lateSeptember1964 ! Smile

EleanorMc67 · 23/01/2026 00:53

I know you're after that particular blouse & not an alternative - but I did spot some lovely ones in the same vein, & in cotton or silk not polyester (which I can't wear without getting whiffy pits!!). Pricier though, but I'm quite tempted by that first Boden one!!

EleanorMc67 · 23/01/2026 01:04

Boden has quite a few really nice shirts in fact - quite surprised as it's not somewhere I'd usually look.

And yes, I know that some of these are really nothing like the one the OP is after - but they ARE all really lovely shirts!

And I'd rather do that than read nonsensical comments about the evil of Emma Bunton ... 🙄

LlynTegid · 23/01/2026 07:21

Looks lovely.

thedogdaysareover51 · 23/01/2026 08:14

@EleanorMc67 you’ve linked some gorgeous blouses! I love the silk Me and Em one that’s in the sale but it’s sold out in my size. I’ll also link this one I bought recently but haven’t worn yet that might be similar to the others. https://www.meandem.com/cotton-embroidery-detail-straight-blouse-smoke-pink

Would she really be buying a shirt from River Island, though, especially for a TV appearance? Nothing wrong with the shop but she's absolutely loaded and her shirt looks much more expensive than the River Island one.

She'll employ a stylist to go hunting and find pieces suitable, most 'celebrities' do.
