New years resolution - wear ALL the clothes in my wardrobe

Not outfits based on whether they need ironing, if I wore it last time I saw that person, how long it takes to dry in the winter etc etc Felt like a bit of a fraud the first time I wore some trousers that I usually save "for best" but I'm loving it! Trying to do a no spend 2026 and think this will help. Will be interesting to see if there's things I hardly ever reach for and whether there are any genuine gaps - expect there'll be a decent sized donation pile at the end of the year. Had anyone else done this before?

@SoScarletItWasaaarrr! Sounds a great outfit. I did my chores and workouts today in leggings, then changed into black heavy weight jersey trousers, one of the nice cotton shirts (white ) I bought last year and have barely worn, a brown cashmere jumper (last year), brown ribbed socks and chunky R&B loafers with a fancy trim. Wasn’t even going anywhere, thought I deserved a nice outfit! DS asked me, ‘Are you going out somewhere Mum, you look nice?’ Always the note of surprise! 😄

I'm still doing really well although this horrible wet weather has meant I've not been able to wear some of the nicer jackets I've got. Hopeful that spring will mean I can get them into the rotation. Am doing a lot of online browsing but not bought anything which is good for me! Definitely being more considered about what I need to fill gaps in my wardrobe rather than just buying willy nilly
Loving that people are still on board and getting compliments at the same time

I’ve been doing this since the beginning of January, turned all my hangers round and trying to dress each day based on what’s still facing the ‘wrong’ way. I’ve already decluttered a few things that don’t fit and a couple of things I don’t think I’ll wear again. It feels better to be choosing clothes intentionally rather than just reaching for the same things over and over again. I’ve also realised I have an issue with shirts - I hate ironing, never do it, and have 8 shirts I love but never wear because they need ironing. So although I’ve now ironed them all I’m not going to buy any more new shirts. I may also declutter half of them.
