I've got it in my basket but I think I've talked myself out of it. Totally unneeded and I'll be letting myself down if I cave. 😂

I also have another quandary I need help with to make the right decision.

I have £15 in Medik8 points. I redeemed them during their BF 30% off sale only to discover you couldn't stack the reward with offers.

I've now only got until 21.02 to use them on a full price item or they expire. So do I...

  1. Buy something I use regularly but is pricey and I already own back ups of. This would be choice of Advanced Peptide serum/ Vit C/ Crystal Retinal
  2. Buy the cheapest item the min spend allows for (feel like min spend might be about £30 to add voucher)
  3. Let it expire and spend nothing. £15 is a decent discount but it's only slightly more than the 20% off offers that happen all year round on various sites. E.g CR6 is £69 so 20% off is 13.80.

What about buying and trying the new niacinamide peptides serum?

I’ve just bought two of the Jarrolds edits for £85. Thank you @keepincool and @IDontHateRainbows for letting me know about the loyalty 15% off. I bought it for the Dermalogica Sleep Coccoon RRP £89, so two for £85 feels like a real steal. And I’ll be definitely selling the nail polish and candle on, so probably have £30 back that way. It’s my favourite night moisturiser ever so far. I’m just half way through the Medik8 night moisturiser, I really don’t like beauty items where you dip your fingers in. I like a pump delivery. Two should be enough to get me through until winter.

@JoRaRaRa I don't really love niacinamide as an ingredient. It's in so much stuff anyway it sort of feels redundant.

The sensible part of my brain (the smaller section 😂) knows I should probably just write it off rather than spend upwards of 30 quid I have zero need to spend.

You could also offer the discount to someone you know well and have the product sent to them.

True. I could see if my friend or DD want anything. I've got until the 21st to decide.

I have a £5 medik8 reward sitting on my account, and I've bought a few medik8 things recently but always from other places with 20%+ off because that's always been a better deal. Medik8 have 20% off currently though with the code RACHEL20, until Sunday

keepincool · 30/01/2026 12:55

@BakeOffRewatch - glad you like the edit.

I like the MB tea fragrance. Lip balm and hand cream i will always use. I've already sold the face wash - I've realised that I don't really get on with demalogica products.

The teas were nice too 😊

Edited to remove comment about the nail varnish - I'd got it mixed up with a clear sparkly varnish from another BB. I probably will use it on my toes though.

I don't think I've ever tried it. But I asked chatgpt what I could use to help with acne scars and it recommended Dr barbara sturm niacinamide serum. It must think I'm rich 🤣 Anyway, I keep trying to get the Medik8 niacinamide serum thinking that it will help with it being the same ingredient, so I think I've become a bit obsessed. I've been taking antibiotics and it's cleared up the acne but left me with scarring now 😭

I wouldn't be able to just leave it. If I feel I've earnt it, I've got to spend it 🤑 is there a minimum spend? Could you maybe get some minis for travelling? Or could you get a gift set for someone? (I'm not even sure if they do gift sets). Or you could just gift it to me 💁🏻‍♀️ that sounds like the most sensible idea 🤔🤣

I have the medik8 niacinamide peptides and I like it. But I only bought it because I've never tried any of their peptides, wanted to buy one, that was new and I got it cheap with various discounts etc. It's too early to say if it's had any significant effect but I like the texture, it makes my skin look glowy and I haven't had any irritation etc. I'll probably repurchase, unless I prefer the advanced peptides (I have a sample I just bought as part of a bundle on Vinted).

user593 · 30/01/2026 14:57

The Medik8 Clarity Peptides are on Amazon for £27 down from £45. I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks and they’re working well for me. I think they’ve been discontinued - hence the discount!

OvaHere · 30/01/2026 16:58

I'm sure you'll all be relieved to know I've resolved my Medik8 dilemma in a satisfactory way. 😂I had more PayPal reward points clear so I bought the Eyelift Peptides for £30 (price after £15 reward discount) then paid the remainder with PP points.

So completely free and zero damage to wallet or conscience! Let's ignore the fact I have enough eye cream to supply my street.

Side note - I wasn't sure the new Paypal rewards was going to be worth it when I signed up. A bit like TCB and other sites you can be waiting a while for it all to clear but just this last week I've had over £50 come through, mostly from pre xmas spending.

Anyone using it or thinking of using it make sure you check the app for bonus point offers from various sites before purchasing- Selfridges, ASOS and Lookfantastic are often featured.

I wouldnt buy for the sake tbh. Not if you dont need anything for the next few months. They'll possibly be a good gwp in the near future.
Imo £15 isn't that great and I always end up spending more than intended. To get free shipping, etc. 🥰

Good morning, all. I’d like to pick your brains, if I may.

I have recently started using a brush to apply my foundation (got some Wayne Goss ones in the JL sale, so experimenting!).
Do you clean/wash the brush after each use? If not, how often? And what with?

I have used a sponge forever and that’s so easy to just rinse out under the tap.

Nospecialcharactersplease · 31/01/2026 07:40

I use isoclean, it’s great. I do it once a week.

I tend to wipe my foundation and concealer brushes with a cotton pad soaked in toner or micellar water after use, then clean properly every few weeks. That's probably not the recommended advice though 😕. I still have good skin.

namechange0998776554799000 · 31/01/2026 08:35

I use an isoclean spray and cloth

Thelifeofawife · 31/01/2026 09:09

I have a brush cleaning dish which I put a bar of Simple soap in, and clean the brushes using that with warm water (lightly brushing across the soap bar), then give a good rinse out at the end.
I use Isoclean sometimes but prefer the above method.

My brushes have stayed in tact and cleaned up nicely

Talisin · 31/01/2026 09:51

I use the back of my hand as a palette for transferring my foundation to brush so when I finish I use a makeup wipe to clean. I then fold that over and use the clean half to wipe the brush down as well, then every couple of weeks or so I use a proper brush cleaner.
