Cord trousers?

I am looking for some comfy cord trousers. I have a few sensory issues with clothing, jeans are so uncomfortable and I currently live in dungarees as I hate tight things around my waist. I would love a pair of soft core trousers, ideally with a partially elasticated waist (at the back), ideally with legs I can roll up at the bottoms so wear with boots or trainers. I have seen a few pairs on pintrest but most are not available in UK. I like the ones from passenger clothing but they don’t have my size. Ideally I want to spend less than £50 but can’t stretch a bit further if need be. Ideally in khaki, green, maroon or mustard colour.

Does such a thing exist? Help 😊

They say they fit down to an 8, so I imagine they’d look fine.

You need to get to Uniqlo! They have exactly the thing I think? I have these in two colours. Super comfy. Not too baggy not too tight. Look best rolled up a bit and great with trainers :

I have these from Uniqlo (different to the ones posted above). They are super comfy but massive, I'm an 8 and the xs is big on me round the waist, so you might need to size down.

I love corduroy so much! But, given your sensory issues, be sure to try them on and walk around in them in a quiet place, including up and downstairs, if this is something you will do when wearing them. Cord often makes a distinct "rip-rip" sound as it rubs together between your thighs. For me this is a dealbreaker, the noise drives me insane. But different fabrics on different bodies may give you better results!

I love these ones but worried about their sizes as they are a one size fits all? I am a 12 and petite, not sure if they will look big on me?

Not sure. I’m tall and a size 8 and wear their jumpers with an oversize comfy look. I haven’t tried the trousers. You can always return them.

I got some lovely blue Hush ones on Brandalley in Oct

I love the Uniqlo ones but the colour I want (green) are only available in M, I think I would need a small if them come up big? Sadly I don’t have a store near me. Though I am tempted to buy them in Navy 🤔

Don't you find the piping on corduroy irritating specially on inner thighs?

BaronessBomburst · 07/01/2026 14:34

@evilharpyI bought those Uniqlo barrel leg cords just before Christmas, after seeing them recommended on another thread. I love them! Really comfortable. I bought the dark blue.

FurForksSake · 07/01/2026 14:37

I don’t think Uniqlo come up particularly big, but maybe pull on might. I’d try the medium, at a 12 that would be reasonable.

Not if it’s soft cord. I wear cord dungarees occasionally and they seem ok. My thighs don’t rub together too much.

I got a couple of pairs from Next last winter, they wash very well and I wear them often.

I have the NEXT ones mentioned upthread in brown
I like them and they are comfy but I wear them like trackies and wouldn't really go further than the shops in them
I might just not be styling them right though

Seasalt Crackington trousers. Elasticated at the back, fasten to the side and you can even get away with having a button undone. Neither too skinny nor too wide, definitely rollable. 100% cotton. Sometimes the colours are a bit wacky and the good colours sell out, but as Seasalt clothes are generally good quality there is a good second hand market. Seasalt also have a sale shop on eBay.

I have these as well and can highly recommend them. It doesn't say in the description that they are corduroy, but they are.

I have a fab pair of green cords from Oliver Bonas - size down possibly 2 sizes depending on your shape & how fitted you want.

selondon28 · 07/01/2026 17:31

I just got Aven ones from Seasalt in maroon in their sale. Very comfy. They have full price ones in blue on next as well.

llamashoe · 07/01/2026 17:39

Sorry I just noticed you said £50 or under. I dont know if the Toast ones are worth the price.

Hedgehog23 · 07/01/2026 17:39

Uniqlo? I bought some in the autumn and love them.
