Just that!

How old are you, how much did it cost, UK or abroad?

Sexyin2026 · 19/12/2025 04:02

So a bit more detail! I looked great at 50. But At 52 my face fell off a cliff. I got a turkey neck and huge eye bags and loads of excess eyelid. I took the plunge in 2023 to get it all reversed with surgery. It wasn’t for the faint hearted, let me tell you, I had it all done under local anaesthetic and went into shock about half way through. Couldn’t stop shaking! The next 48 hours was agony. So much pain. However, a few days later I felt better and could start to see the difference in how I looked and felt positive. I am now 56 and everything still looks fab. I would say I probably could pass for 40. I actually don’t care about looking younger, I like being old and the respect that commands, I just didn’t want to look haggard! If anyone if thinking about doing this, just do it! It’s a game changer! I’ve gone from being almost reclusive to being a social beast because I feel so much better!! ❤️

I don’t want to spoil the s&b vibes but this seems quite contradictory.

I’m 56 now. I had it done at 53. I had it done at Signature Clinic in Glasgow and it cost £10k. Honestly the best money I’ve ever spent. I looked awful and now I look lovely. I’ll do it again if I need to in the future.

You’re incredibly brave doing that under a local.

Are you willing to provide pics?

How does it?

Glad to hear OP. I am 49 (nearly) and have botox only once a year but totally get what you mean. It isn't about looking our age but about feeling good about yourself. I will consider it if I think I need it so good to hear you had a positive experience. I think I remember you, you put photos on here? Looked amazing!

thedevilinablackdress · 19/12/2025 11:37

Of course it's contradictory.
No shade to OP or anyone who wants to do whatever interventions, but surgery, Botox etc. is all about turning or holding back the effects of time on your face. You can call it looking more refreshed/rested/yourself but those are just euphemisms. Own your decisions.

Eh? I do own my decision. I no longer have eye bags, saggy lids or a turkey neck. I'll own that FANTASTIC decision, thanks!!

Excellent, it sounds like it's been a really positive thing for you.
My point was that saying it's not about wanting to look younger is disingenuous.

princesspadam · 19/12/2025 12:30

I would consider this in the next few years
i had a TT, lipo & muscle repair in 2023 and my body now looks fabulous but my face & neck are deffo on the decline

i would have a GA though, I don’t even have a coil put in awake

how did you choose your surgeon and what sort of facelift to go for?

Summerhillsquare · 19/12/2025 12:39

That sounds quite a low price tbh, I've just been quoted £7.5k for an endoscopic brow lift alone!

itsnothingoriginal · 19/12/2025 14:01

I think prices for cosmetic surgery have rocketed in the last year as facelifts are becoming so popular especially with younger people. I think will be even more so if ultrasound scans become the norm for facial fillers as I imagine that will push the prices up??

Would love a face and neck lift as the collagen in my face seemed to hit a cliff edge much earlier in my late 40s. No way can I afford it 😫

Sexyin2026 · 19/12/2025 23:04

Just do it! The difference is stark!!

OP posts:
user927464 · 19/12/2025 23:09

I’m imagining that was a few years ago since dsis has just been quoted £22k for a facelift

MangerThings · 19/12/2025 23:09

But aging is all about turkey neck, eye bags, that is literally what aging is.

What happens if it all falls apart in 10 years? Will you go back for more? Will you keep having it done even if you start to emulate Joan Rivers?! I honestly think this is inevitable if you try to hold back the sands of time with surgery.

Huckleberries · 19/12/2025 23:11

I never used to understand why people wanted cosmetic surgery

But now I would quite like a facelift and a breast lift!

I just can't imagine going through these medical procedures though.

I just assumed a facelift or all the things you've had would be done under general.

when you say you went into shock, what what happened exactly?

I don't think I'd actually be able to do the breast augmentation. That seems like really full on surgery.

CleanSkin · 19/12/2025 23:14

You do you, OP, and more power to you if it makes you feel as amazing as your posts claim.
Personally, at nearly 60, I really cba. I am what I am.

rainbow231 · 20/12/2025 06:02

‘I just can’t imagine going through these medical procedures though’

Feel exactly the same. It feels like mutilation to me, just horribly brutal. I certainly understand the temptation, I’ve lost cheek volume in the last 2 years (46) and face and neck are a bit baggy now on a bad day, it definitely is disturbing… but still, I just couldn’t do it. When I feel badly I try to focus on being healthful and the best I can at my age.

I also really hate the normalisation of all this brutal type of surgery and messing with faces, I dread the impact on my daughter’s generation.

True, and I have lip filler for this reason. But my brow has dropped so much on one side it's pushing my eyelid shut. GP says many years wait for someone to even look at it on NHS. So occasionally the passage of time is more than purely cosmetic.

Of course, no arguments there.

Dutchhouse14 · 20/12/2025 10:07

Did it hurt?how much did it cost?how did you find your surgeon? And are you brave enough to post photos?
I am toying with the idea of botox but keep thinking perhaps face lift would be better, im 54 and starting to look a bit like a basset hound.
Eye lids have defintely dropped.
Does a face lift help with marionette lines ??

KingfisherBluey · 20/12/2025 10:22

I'm constantly amazed at how many women post here in the small hours of the morning!

Why aren't you fast asleep @Sexyin2026 ?? Are you in a different time zone? (Glasgow doesn't count- not quite)

I think we need before and after pics.

Nothing means anything without those.
