Please please help me find one of those slash front jumper things. I really really want one.

Let me explain: it's like a cross between a cardigan, a jumper and a wrap top.

It's sort of a jumper but has such a deep V - right down to the waist band and often the two sides slightly cross over - you might think it's a cardigan but the waist band goes all the way round so it's not.

Clear?

Short or long sleeves.

Not black.
Not blue - greeny blue okay though.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I reaaaaaally want one!

Brocc I know exactly what you mean. It overlaps at the front. Can I find one online? can I buggery.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:29

Me neither. What are the damn things called? They must have a name.

'faux wrap top'? I'm sure I've seen them in Primark.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:32

I looked in Primark and didn't find one.

There was a beautiful one in Firetrap a couple of months ago, but a bit pricey.

fishie · 09/06/2008 20:35

i like them too. kew has one but it is very very thin and not worth £28

PortBlacksandResident · 09/06/2008 20:37

Ballet Cardigan?

In women's section not little girls.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:37

Not quite what I meant fishie - though that is lovely and I am tempted by it.

No, what I mean is far deeper V'd than that.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:38

Like an open cardigan with just the bottom button done up - you'd have to wear a top underneath.

OP posts:
fishie · 09/06/2008 20:38

look at multiway cardies on kew, they are big on this sort of thing.

tell me more about firetrap one, i like them usually very good quality.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:39

Not a ballet cardigan - they wrap all the way around. These are slouchier.

I know what you mean - Gap had some (quite a few colours, open knit) on Saturday, but I can't find online.

And I have a Fatface top similar to what you describe that is open to under the bust and has a deep ribbed section underneath which is fab, but oddly not online, sorry! It's grey.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:47

Ooooh, Gap eh? I need to go to Gap to exchange something. Were they slouchy? What length sleeves? I love open knit.

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 20:48

(Have been looking on Kew fishie and not found anything)

OP posts:
AllBuggiedOut · 09/06/2008 20:54

Very slouchy, short sleeves. Am trying to find you a picture online but they don't seem to be on the US site and Gap UK is non-existent in internet terms... I am also pretty certain it was a top and not a cardie, but I didn't try it on so couldn't be 100% sure there wasn't a button lurking at the bottom...

BroccoliSpears · 09/06/2008 22:24

Right. Am going to Gap to investigate.

AllBuggiedOut · 09/06/2008 23:01

Let us know how you get on!

Alambil · 09/06/2008 23:27

Marks and sparks have some for under £20

DirtySexyMummy · 09/06/2008 23:45

Okay. this one is a cardigan, but its similar idea and thought it could be a maybe?

BroccoliSpears · 10/06/2008 13:56

Which bit of M&S Lewisfan? I had a look but didn't find anything.

That's the right sort of thing DSM!! Not crazy about that one though.

AllBuggiedOut · 10/06/2008 19:51

I've found a pic of the Fatface one I have, but it may not come low enough for your requirements. Scroll down for better pictures. Although it's not online, I think I saw it instore at the weekend . I have it in shimmer and it is rather lovely...

BroccoliSpears · 10/06/2008 20:32

tHAT is gorgeous ABO.

dinny · 10/06/2008 20:39

oooh, DSM, I love that one!

BroccoliSpears · 11/06/2008 17:08

Report:

Scoured Gap - they had lovely open knit crossover cardigans, very nearly the right thing, but not quite. I would have bought one if they'd had the right colour.

Scoured M&S - didn't find anything.

Went in to Topshop. Felt old. Came out again.

Looked in Fatface - couldn't browse as no lift to womenswear upstairs and had both children in double buggy with me. Nice chap brought me this and this to try - both lovely but precicely the wrong length for my new flabby baby belly. Bought a hooded crossover short sleeved tunic thing. Still not the right thing, but nice nonetheless.

The hunt goes on.

dinny · 11/06/2008 17:30

oooh, I like the striped one, BS

let me know when you find the perfect one! I may order the one DSM linked to

JackieNo · 11/06/2008 18:09

Does it have to be plain?
stripy one
