What to wear-London afternoon tea

Have been invited to a 40th birthday afternoon tea in a posh London hotel (not the Ritz!) in late November. I’m feeling it will be a little bit too early to go full Christmas glitz - what would you wear to give a nod to it being nearly Christmas without looking like you’ve jumped the gun a bit?

Or perhaps a tweed skirt thinking about it, again with boots and a jumper or blouse

I'd wear a jacket I've got already that looks similar in shape and fabric to this one from Sainsbury's Tu.

Bearing in mind I'd be sitting down and stuffing my face, I'd wear it with something relatively low key and with a forgiving waist band - maybe my favourite cords, maybe tweedy wide leg trousers, maybe a midi length skirt.

Editing as I've just read a review of the Tu jacket that says it's gold rather than bronze (which is what I'd thought) in real life. If that's correct then I'd think twice about it for myself but it might still work for you.
