It's dark green.
Big party coming up - lots of people, some i don't know - i'd like to look glam but not stand out too much. I'm hour glass and bustier than the model.

Nude kitten heels? Nude tights?

Or should i try to find some dark green shoes? Or is that too matchy?Dark tights with dark shoes? Bare legs?!

I don't get out much these days! Haven't dressed up for ages. What are your thoughts?

I think silver shoes silver bag, Sainsburys have a sequined silver bag in at the moment.

I like the idea of red as well though but only if you have red handbag too.

Missohnoyoubetterdont · 13/11/2025 08:00

Gold!

SeaOfBliss · 13/11/2025 08:10

Silver shoes. Spotlight should be on the dress, not shoes!

Mansionscoldandgrey · 13/11/2025 08:23

Black shoes with very sheer barely black tights.

Pussert · 13/11/2025 08:32

I would go with gold shoes, fine denier black tights and large leopard bag, large red earrings and red lipstick

Roverbarks · 13/11/2025 08:34

Not nude. Definitely not nude. Everything seems to think it goes with everything but it really doesn’t.

MadeInGrimsby · 13/11/2025 08:35

Not black shoes or bag! That's for every day. I agree with pp - go for red, pink, silver or gold. I was going to suggest orange. A contrasting clutch bag.

I'd love DM's and a biker jacket with it

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one to think this! And I would wear that during the day too not just at night. And gasp, with tights. Of pretty much any colour.
If I wanted to wear heels I might look for the essa/issa (?) or Joanie platforms.

ICantBeDoingWithThat · 13/11/2025 08:43

I'd go very sheer black tights and black suede shoes, maybe kitten heeled slingbacks. You don't need any more sparkles with that dress, its lovely!

There are some great shoes on Joanie.

I would too. For day wear, dark red platform docs, burgundy pattern tights and long faux fur coat.

It's blue and green should never be seen. Or at least my mother always said that!
Red and green are a bit Buddy from Elf but you can actually get away with that in Dec.

My mother said ‘Red and green should never be seen except on an Irish Colleen’

Wow i didn't think of red!
Really?

Im warming to that ...

Red shoes no knickers. (That's the saying, not a suggestion!)

I am going off topic I know. But my mother always did, and still does say "never trust a man wearing white shoes" 😂

I didn't get it then, and I don't get it now.

My mother had the same type of view except her's was never trust a man in a white polo neck jumper!

So basically any man wearing anything white are not to be trusted 😀

I'd go for a darker/burgundy red suede to reflect the shade of the dress.

Yes i've seen some darker red which i thought might be better ...

Gold - lovely but i might feel a bit OTT

Bright pink 🩷 i'd love to! I live bright pink.

Yes if i go bare leg i will bung on fake tan.

Sometimes i find tights make dresses ride up so i don't mind bare legs ...

How is the sizing of the dress? Is it true to size? Asking for a friend

Blue Banana are pretty good. They are true to size and not skimpy re: arms and bust.

I've had a few bits from them. Their jumper sleeves are nice and long!

See through tights or bare legged, lovely gold wrapped sandal heels with a gold clutch bag to match
Also maybe add in a small chain necklace with a diamond style. Really dainty and elegant

This sounds lovely !

I think even with burgundy you're looking too much like Mrs Christmas. I'd go with gold or pink for the shoes.

🤣👍

Do you know what - i adore bright pink and orange together! In summer i wore a bright orange silk pair of palazzo trousers and a pink vest top and loved it!

Not sure i would do it with sparkly green though ...
