Knee high boots

Bruisername · 27/10/2025 20:21

I am in the market for a pair of knee high boots with a heel. To wear with knee length dresses and longer dresses

i tries the boden pull on boots and the heel was good but my ankles are slim but my calves are not so much and they looked a bit wrong. And saggy round the ankle.

I was thinking these?www.johnlewis.com/geox-serilda-60-leather-knee-high-boots-black/p113775823?size=eu39

But not sure so was wondering if any of you shoe experts had any suggestions!!

I struggle to get past the wellyness of black leather boots - I’ve always ended up with suede in the past

A mahogany or conker colour leather boot looks smart. I think black boots tend to look like black boots, unless there's a bit more to them.

Suede is a bit urgh. I think my blue suede ones are really nubuck.

Bruisername · 31/10/2025 13:52

Yeah agree in suede. I’ve never had a pair of knee highs I’ve loved tbh

would brown work with a black dress and black tights? I guess I could have a matching brown belt

Yes.

Totally agree

Right the geox arrived and I don’t like them but I’ve added a couple of photos to show what I’m working with. I like black if you couldn’t guess! Excuse the mess.

am I just better going with ankle boots or a high heeled shoe? I like a block heel and like the ones on this boot but it feels too much again

You look nothing like I imagined. I pictured a 'bruiser'.
The boots look nice, but if you don't like them return them.

Bruisername · 31/10/2025 16:40

🤣

you don’t think they’re too saggy?

I’ve lost a bit of weight recently and I’m lacking confidence in my own decision making tbh!!!

They look really smart. I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it.
You can trust me. Archers

Too welly. Send them back

Bruisername · 01/11/2025 08:19

I like the side view but not so much the front. Will try them on later when DD is home as she is always brutally honest!!!

OP posts:
EcruCardigan · 01/11/2025 08:58

Sennd them back if you're not sure.

Bruisername · 01/11/2025 09:02

I’ll try them again. I wonder if what I want actually exists!!!

maybe as you suggest a brown would be better

OP posts:
EcruCardigan · 01/11/2025 09:23

They do, but you'll find them when you're not looking for them.
I once found the perfect boots on ebay at a great price. They'd been listed as the wrong size. Sad

Wait for DD's verdict. I think they fit your brief but are not sparking joy.

Bruisername · 01/11/2025 09:32

True - they aren’t bringing joy and they make me feel like I have really fat thighs!!

Have you looked at Gabor? https://www.gaborshoes.co.uk/womens-c1/boots-c3/knee-high-boots-c101/isla-m-ladies-knee-high-boots-p42405#attribute%5B1%5D=5313

Not a brand I usually shop at (feels a bit old lady to me) but I bought some of their knee high boots about 4 years ago and they are still going strong. Comfortable, small heel, and they look smart with a dress for work or with black jeans. You look about the same size as me, possibly slimmer; my calves are on the chunkier side (not enough to warrant a wide fit but enough to mean that some boots are too tight fitting) and my ankles are reasonably slim. Unfortunately the exact ones I have don't seem to be on sale still.

Isla M Ladies Knee High Boots

The Isla M ladies' boots from Gabor are a knee high style with tonal nubuck uppers and comfortable microfibre linings. A 5cm heel sits underfoot for a boost in height making the boots a great alternative for a dressy autumnal style. With an almond toe,...

NotMeNoNo · 01/11/2025 09:45

Gabor are my secret obsession at the moment as they do half sizes. Some of their range is pretty classic but there is plenty that could be Dune or similar, except they are comfortable and decent quality. They do a few tall boots in different widths.
I recommend a trip to Charles Clinkard if you have one near you.

PurpleFlower1983 · 01/11/2025 09:46

I like Dune Tayla boots.

Bruisername · 01/11/2025 09:57

I want a slightly higher heel. I Charles clinkard near me but I do think I need to go into town

SheSawSeaShore · 01/11/2025 20:51

I was also going to suggest Gabor. Half sizes a big plus for me too @NotMeNoNo

I’ve just bought these in black suede and found them very comfortable walking around town for a day. They’re so nice I ordered some ankles boots to replace some DMs that I just couldn’t break in and I love them too!
I think the boots in your photos look fine around the ankle - I think that’s just how knee boots look unless you go for a straighter style. But definitely return if you don’t love them.

Bruisername · 01/11/2025 20:53

They are nice - I just wish they did a higher heel in that style

OP posts:
Bruisername · 02/11/2025 08:17

Oh those look good! I think I’m leaning on suede again tbh but when I searched knee high boots on there these didn’t come up!
