Victoria Beckham's hairstyle

I absolutely love the shape and style of VB's hair in the new Netflix documentary. Pic attached.
I know it will have been styled by an army, but does anyone know what I would ask my hairdresser for if I want this? I can show her a photo of course, but I'd like to describe it too so I definitely get what I want.
Does she have layers? How would I get that perfect subtle wave (without being a millionaire!)?

No advice OP but I thought that too, her hair is lovely

77Fee · 17/10/2025 13:07

I don't think there are layers there. Just a shoulder length bob.

CaffeinatedSeagull · 17/10/2025 13:13

If you show a photo like that to any good hairdresser they will know what to do.

They’ll also suggest adjustments to make it suit your face shape better.

It's got such a lovely shape at the ends though. I've got single length hair of about the same length as hers, and it's much more 'blocky' looking. Hers falls in a sort of heart shape.

It's just a bob with some long, framing layers. Show your hairdresser the photo and they can show you how to style it and what products to use.

I thought her hair was the best I’ve ever seen it.

Same. And I LOVE her colour - like a very grown out balayage.

The last time I had my hair cut this length the hairdresser suggested not having it all one length but cutting very long layers in it so it would sit better i.e not curl out and it looks like she has this too.

It definitely helped to style my hair (a wave looked much nicer and dried straight it always curled under nicely) and not have that blocky bob look

Thank goodness she’s ditched the straggly hair extensions. It’s a very flattering style for her. I’m tempted to get it myself.

If you're on Instagram Rachel Stevens has posted a video of her new haircut which is very similar, you can see exactly what I mean with the long layers when she shows the back of her hair in the video. The cut was by Jack Mead who has a video of it on his page so you could save those and show your hairdresser!

Oh great, thank you, I'll take a look

Yes I've painstakingly been growing all of my layers out, but this might convince me to get a few put back in.

Is t it what they call a ‘Lob’ ? A straightforward bob but longer.

That might be it!

I reckon there are still some hair extensions in there. For fullness not length. It is lovely though.

Tagliateriroa · 17/10/2025 14:15

It works because her hair is not that thick. I’ve had this conversation with my hairdresser many times and if your hair is very thick it just struggles to do that flat beachy wave thing. It does look amazing though

BigFatBully · 17/10/2025 14:16

It's not a bob, a bob doesn't reach the shoulders. It's a wavy medium cut with highlights.

Changingnames2002 · 17/10/2025 14:59

I’d say a bob above shoulder bones, keeping a little extra length at the sides so it does not appear rounded, one length with some disconnected layers to give it more texture, keeping weight at the ends. There will be some extensions used here to add thickness not too many to look obvious. It will have been blow dried and possibly a large tong or wand to curl vertically, ends left straighter, and then brushed out to give it a lived-in look and not too neat or set.

ilparadodosdoltos · 17/10/2025 15:01

I agree but it’s definitely in the styling. I’ve had my hair that length but I can’t achieve that shape she has.

lifeonmars100 · 17/10/2025 15:14

I reallly like it too, it suits her and she looks great. I am not a fan but I can acknowledge great hair!

Ah bugger, that might be me screwed then!

Damn, as I thought, much more complex than it looks!

It is lovely and it suits her

LasareMaloney · 17/10/2025 16:26

It's a basic bob with some thinning, probably with a razor or slide cutting the top layers and edges near front. In the past, achieving that look would simply have taken putting it into a bundled ponytail... these days, she probably had someone work with tongs or GHSDs to achieve those bends... :)

I think a lot of it looking so good is in the styling.
