Wide fitting Chelsea boot with excellent grip on the sole smart enough for work

Any ideas please?

Budget up to £200, would prefer minimal or no breaking in. Must not be slippy in the rain. I work in an office but would also like them to be suitable for eg a walk around town type thing.

Thank you in advance.

I also want to know the answer to this!

I have my eyes on some Birkenstocks boots for this winter as I find the sandals and clogs so comfy. They run wide. I haven't tried them on yet, but I thought they fitted your description!

I have these, they are lovely

Thank you very much everyone. I'm a size 7 and an E/EE? fitting (not EEE). Loads of ideas, thanks so much.

Fly London?

I just came to say Fly London too.

I have wide feet and have very comfortable boots from them that I wear at my office job.

DD has these for school

I’ve been wearing Blundstones with more or less everything for 30 years. A pair lasts about 5 years.

I bought some Bludstones on the recommendation of someone on here and I bloody love them, not sure I’d wear them for work but then I dont work anymore, but I wear them with jeans and jumpers, for going shopping, for dog walking and for horse riding. I don’t think they’ve been off my feet for a year,

fabulous recommendation.

Dr Martens Chelsea boots are great - they do a couple of different styles including a winter specific pair.
Robust enough to wear out in bad weather/on walks but smart enough for work or an evening out. I love them.

Notmymarmosets · 15/10/2025 16:14

Hotter do wide fitting with grippy soles. Several ranges, but one is Tenby.

MamaBobo · 15/10/2025 16:15

Fly London, the style I have is the Salv. Fantastic, no breaking in at all, great soles, still looking good after many years wear, Not expensive either.

user765378 · 15/10/2025 16:43

Fly boots. I wear them constantly and have many pairs. They are so comfy.

Bavariamaria · 15/10/2025 16:47

Thank you, have ordered two pairs of the Fly Salv to try. Maybe I should get Blundstones too for weekends. I like them but not sure if would be too casual for the office. It's not super smart but I wear dresses and a blazer.

Lanx, particularly Edgworth for the Vibram sole. E fit as standard.

Bavariamaria · 16/10/2025 18:15

Lanx get such mixed reviews, I do think the Vibram would really help.

Do they? I’ve only heard good things and I love mine.

These look amazing but pricey. Wish I could find something like this but a bit cheaper.

Bavariamaria · 16/10/2025 19:09

Yes, a lot of threads on here, seem to be very divided opinions! There's a beautiful browny conkery reddy colour that is beautiful!

Fly boots have arrived, all creased at the top and with weird white marks on them which look like scrapes. Very annoying! Haven't even tried them on. Looks like returns that they've sent out again.

RM Williams, great comfort and quality, look on ebay or vinted.

Starlight1984 · 21/10/2025 14:14

Lanx, Blundstone and Tretorn.
