Wide fitting Chelsea boot with excellent grip on the sole smart enough for work

Any ideas please?

Budget up to £200, would prefer minimal or no breaking in. Must not be slippy in the rain. I work in an office but would also like them to be suitable for eg a walk around town type thing.

Thank you in advance.

If you decide to have a go with Blundstones, they do a special wide fit. They're Australian sizing which means 5.5 is actually a 5 wide. I also have the Solovair hi-shine dealer boots and they do look really smart. Hope you find something you like!

@Bavariamaria , if you get the dealer boots I linked, try them on, as you might need to size down. The web site has a size guide.
I wear mine with dresses and opaque tights.

Love these. Look a bit like Camper. Expensive though.

soupmaker · 21/10/2025 21:15

I live in Blundstones outside work. Too casual for my line of work. But those dealer boots look the absolute business @UpMyselfI can feel a purchase coming on.

Gabor "Marissa" boots are a decent width, maybe try the half size. I've been really impressed with them. They come in a few nice colours.
If I have to size up for width I put a cushioned insole in my shoes/boots to reduce the volume a bit without narrowing.

I have the Solovair dealer boots, they still look fantastic after four years, I highly recommend. Just bought my first pair of Blundstones.

I have my eyes on some Birkenstocks boots for this winter as I find the sandals and clogs so comfy. They run wide. I haven't tried them on yet, but I thought they fitted your description!

I have Birkenstock Highwoods. Love them, my favourite pair of boots ever. Lots of room even when wearing thick socks. Warm too with no cold coming through the soles.

That's never worked for me.

Fly London, the style I have is the Salv. Fantastic, no breaking in at all, great soles, still looking good after many years wear, Not expensive either.

Second these, I have four pairs in different colours. They’re really comfy and no breaking in

LazyJemima · 22/10/2025 12:27

Ecco, I've been wearing them for years. Their styles do vary and some are wider than others. I've got a few in different colours and they last really well.

I bought some Bludstones on the recommendation of someone on here and I bloody love them, not sure I’d wear them for work but then I dont work anymore, but I wear them with jeans and jumpers, for going shopping, for dog walking and for horse riding. I don’t think they’ve been off my feet for a year,

fabulous recommendation.

It might have been me-have been recommending them on here for years.

Love mine. Dsis and DD both have them as well and nothing but praise.

I also have a horrible (and undeserved I might add as never wear pointy shoes or heels) bunion and they are the only things that work!

UpMyself · 22/10/2025 14:07

I have Fly London boots. The styling might not be to everyone's taste - I don't like buckles on boots - but they are comfortable

MrsLizzieDarcy · 22/10/2025 14:15

I've got a pair of Lanx Edgworth boots and absolutely live in them outside of work but i've got the conker distressed ones and they're just not smart enough for work. It's the only pair of boots I've ever bought that didn't need breaking in - I took them away this weekend and they were the only shoes I took as I knew that they work for casual and outdoor wear. Going to order another pair that I can wear to work!

PrissyGalore · 22/10/2025 15:05

Blundstone Lugs. Very wide and grippy sole, much chunkier than normal ones. Toast sell a nice Chestnut pair.

BarnacleBeasley · 22/10/2025 15:13

It depends on your office, as they're a bit stompy, but I have Camper Pix boots and they fit my wide feet.

They're really comfy as they're incredibly light.

UpMyself · 22/10/2025 16:54

@BarnacleBeasley , they look nice.

Women's - Conker Brown - Water Resistant - Leather - Vibram Chelsea Boot – LANX They look comfortable in a good way, but not officey, What's the sizing like for Lanx, @MrsLizzieDarcy ?

(added the link for others)

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/10/2025 14:47

I found Lanx sizing very small. So small i topped out!
