I always love these types of threads as I get so many useful tips from them!

For me

BedHead Small Talk - for lifting limp hair - it's not super cheap but a tiny bit goes a long way. Use it every day

Rimmel ScandalEyes kohl pencil and Made by Mitchell All Smudge No Budge eyeliner - I wear eyeliner most days and these stay on for 12+ hours, and look really sharp - about £9-10 each

ELF Pout Clout pens and their glossy lip oils - about £8 and look and feel nice

Ponds cold cream - have tried other, fancier cleansers but keep coming back to this

The Ordinary 0.2% retinol - also about £8 and use it almost nightly - together with marine collagen it's made a big difference to my skin

What are you go-to bargains?

I have been spending a fortune on the Boots “Future Renew “ range, The only difference I’ve seen is the big dent in my purse!

So I’ll be taking some of the anti aging tips with the castor oil, rose hip oil and also some of the creams from Lidl.

I have very excitedly got back from Superdrug’s and brought the famous blue tin, it was on offer at £2.50 for 75ml. Will use it tonight and see 😘

I have recently tried those semi cured gel nail stickers and they are brilliant, only £3 and my nails look professionally done, mine have stayed on for 2 weeks now and waiting for some more to arrive to change them xx

@Avie29which ones are you using? My SM has exploded with ads for these and I have no idea which ones to try first!

fizzyroselemonade · 05/10/2025 19:15

Id also love to know, the ones I was looking at this morning were £18 😳

These are the first ones i used and have ordered a couple more packs of different ones too, make sure you get the semi-cured ones not just the stickers xx

Garnier BB cream.
Cerave moisturizing lotion

Another vote here for Nivea, ( blue Tin) I use it at night as a base before applying Tret and I must admit my skin feels amazing and I haven’t had any redness etc from the Tret

louderthan · 05/10/2025 20:10

Boots Ingredients retinol eye cream. Less than a tenner, often a discount with advantage card.

So right now, I use my lo-dose retinol and THEN moisturiser (which I might now replace with blue Nivea!). Do you do it other way round?

Yep, although my tret is quite high strength ( my lovely fried brought it back from Turkey)
I did initially use tret first but found my skin wasn’t happy and i developed redness

Not really into make up, think great skin is where it’s at for me. Caudalies vinoperfect range (not massively cheap tbh), but has corrected dark spots and old acne scars in a matter of weeks. I use the toner and serum every morning and evening, and the moisturiser as required. Also love A313 retinoid, which is a cheap French pharmacy brand. I use that on alternative evenings before bed, again amazing and gets results in short time frame.

BleakAF · 05/10/2025 20:50

I have used Nivea Soft in the morning since 1998. I swear it's kept me looking slightly younger than I am!

Dove shower gel. Big bottle from Tesco lasts for ages and my skin is so less dry. I swear by it!

I love elf halo glow

nyx lip liners

vo5 volume spray

How do you use the halo? I’ve got some but can’t seem to get a good glow. I wonder if the colour is wrong

something2say · 05/10/2025 21:04

The new rose Dove soap - real soap - skin very soft and feels lovely - totally clean as well. Have completely ditched shower gels now. I saw those ten pound a bar soaps that smell divine and thought, nah, don't really want to spend a tenner on a soap, but now wish I had. This rose soap bar is doing a great job and I'll never go back to shower gel again.

mdinbc · 05/10/2025 21:40

Sephora Eyeshadow multi-stick. I love a crayon; it gives a softer line than a pencil liner, and can be smudged to a shadow. I have one by Make Up Forever; Sali Hughes was recommending it. While it is lovely, the Sephora one is virtually the same at half the cost.

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara. I switch up once in a while to a higher end brand, but keep going back to this. It's non-clumpy, gives length and separation.

Maybelline Super Stay lip Crayon; another crayon, this one lasts forever. On a beach holiday a friend asked if I had permanent lip colour done. Lasts through ocean swims and margaritas!

MsSmartShoes · 05/10/2025 21:43

I loved Nivea soft - it kept my skin supple enough to avoid stretch marks.
Sadly, they have changed the formula (Why?!) and it’s awful.

coronafiona · 05/10/2025 21:51

Mii mascara is really good. You can buy it for about a tenner using Coupert codes

Is this an actual soap then, not a 'body bar'?

Nannyfannybanny · 05/10/2025 22:03

No Dove Rose beauty bar,is NOT soap, it's a moisturising cleanser, soap contains fatty acids, this doesn't.
