Morning!
A new thread. Autumn beckons, lets hope we get some interesting looks to discuss!

I'm wondering if Stephanie just chose a dress to take her through until evening? As Deftly said, she's probably not that into clothes as much as some of the other women, so it would be convenience over a change of outfit?

I wondered whether Stephanie and Guillaume had official ‘stuff’ (or mascot bedtime?) to do in the break before dinner and didn’t have the luxury of time to relax and change etc.

They were out as a family yesterday at an engagement. The photos aren’t great and I’m not particularly keen on the green jumpsuit. Stephanie and the boys look tired - I suspect it’s been a long weekend.

Just catching up with Meghan in Paris. I agree the white dress was too robe-like (both Star Wars or the Pope have been mentioned and are apt) but her hair and make up were gorgeous. The black dress is stunning on her though - love the low back. The plain black pumps seems a bit too pedestrian though for such a dramatic black dress. Meghan normally wears great shoes, but not here.

As for new Grand Duchess Stephanie, I wondered if she was meeting a lot of dignitaries behind the scenes and wanted to be with her young sons for bed time (since it was obviously a full-on experience for them too) and figured that she wouldn’t have time get ready for a second evening look?

HollyhockDays · 05/10/2025 08:59

The black dress is beautiful!

deeahgwitch · 05/10/2025 10:00

I thought Meghan’s white outfit was ghastly and the neckline on the beautiful black dress was too high.

BlouseyBrowne · 05/10/2025 10:03

Wow. Meghan looked stunning in the black dress. She’s so beautiful. I didn’t see her shoes though.

Indianrollerbird · 05/10/2025 10:15

The black dress is one of Meghan’s best looks, but she needed sky high strappy, open toe heels in a muted silver or gold for contrast with the column of black, not those black court shoes that look too clumpy. Not a fan of the severe hair, but it actually does really suit that style of dress better.

IMO Meghan was dressed by a French stylist, her look so far (no make up makeup, hair etc) is very Parisian. The shoes fit with that aesthetic, I don't think they're the shoes Meghan would normally have chosen, but the French stylist was totally in charge on this occasion.

Keen to see more looks.

justasking111 · 05/10/2025 10:23

Meghan may have worn more substantial shoes for security reasons.

smilesy · 05/10/2025 10:43

I too thought the white outfit was hideous. It looked like she had found the baggiest white shirt and trousers she could and then chucked a sheet over the top. The black dress was a thousand times better. I love the low back

KnickerlessParsons · 05/10/2025 11:02

I think Meghan forgets she’s short and dresses for someone much taller than she is.
Im shorter than Meghan and lots of clothes that would look fab on a taller person just don’t do it for me.
Not all designers realise that you can’t just make the same outfit but smaller and expect a short person to look good in it - they need to design differently for short and tall people.
Both the white and the black outfits would have looked better on someone taller.

themessygarden · 05/10/2025 11:21

She actually looks really awkward in any of the video footage I have seen.

RomainingCalm · 05/10/2025 11:31

Meghan looks great in that black dress - simple colours and classic, non-fussy, shapes really suit her. Hair and make-up is perfect. I agree that a strappy sandal would have been a nicer choice than the black courts but overall it’s a good look.

I’m afraid I think the white outfit is ‘abominable’ - too big, different shades of white and just drowns her. It’s probably very ‘fashion week’ but not for me I’m afraid.

I think the black dress is gorgeous and one of my favourite looks on Meghan . I think the shoes are fine; very high and very strappy seems to have gone out of fashion a bit.

The style she picked are defo more fashioney at the moment.

Yes, I agree. I like both outfits and they're very appropriate for Paris Fashion Week.

There’s a whole other thread dissecting the DofS’s look you might enjoy….

Nayyercheekyfeckers · 05/10/2025 11:55

It's more sheikh than chic!
On another note, if only the UK was as safe a country as France.

BlouseyBrowne · 05/10/2025 11:57

I’ve seen both outfits now. I thought she looked stunning in both. Very suitable for Paris fashion week. She suits the severe bun, not many people would.

I think France has problems? Generally there tends not to be problems at fashion week anywhere.
