Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

@MidnightMeltdown ivd had that thought too - and at my funeral they’ll. e whispering that I had 10 taupe eye shadows in varying shades and finishes 😂 but would we care by then?

I need to have a look through the perfume advent calendars and SpaceNK. I always enjoy the space NK beauty advent but I am really not in mood to have to use up a mascara that is not my favourite, cleanser that is not my favourite and so on. And I don't like the fragrance choices in it again. I need to look through the content carefully and decide if it appeals more then black friday sales

]] Glossy box AC. I had been interested in it due to the ND palette, but seeing the whole contents, I find the rest of it very disappointing. The dodgy Avant is in it to (artificially) raise the RRP.

I think I am going to go for the Glossybox as I want to try the ND Pallette, love the commodity perfume and rituals diffuser, and would like to try medik8, Morphe and Emma Hardie so feels like good value for me.

Will use Avant on my body 🤓

I must admit I was bracing myself for disappointment with Glossybox as am also keen on the ND pallette. Not sure what to do I might hold off for an unboxing as the other items may not be as bad as I think
I would like the Medik8 ,rituals AKT, commodity,Emma Hardie, Morphe and possibly the candle but I fear all the other stuff which comes with it will invariably become clutter in my house.
I think I have had at least 5 Delilah lip pencils in the last 2 years not sure if I can face another one

This made me go and have another look as I agree with everything you’ve said! It’s great value if you break it down. There’s a fair bit I wouldn’t use too but it’s back in the running.

I don’t think I’m going for any of the high-end calendars this year as I’m not feeling the temptation. Having seen Glossybox I’ll probably get that as I subscribe anyway so can get it for £75. And maybe Sephora. I’m now eagerly awaiting Boots, OK Hannah Martin and M&S. It will be a cheaper year for me!

i do recommend rounding stuff up and getting rid on Vinted or any other way - the only lip pencil over ever used is those chunky ilia ones…

For the first time highly anticipating boots. That Denoa pallette looks very very nice, very weable and 30ml commodity perfume more than pays for itself. I've got a milk sample somewhere, need to find it. Some really good calendars this year apart from CB.

I do think Glossybox is good for the cost especially if you are a subscriber. I won't get it as I'm in a similar place to @MidnightMeltdown right now. Earning my place in the RHOBAC Hall of Shame. 😂

I'm having second thoughts about about Space NK since I discovered over the weekend I already own the WA blush in shade Dou Dou - it's in a box of make up from edits yet to be opened and I didn't realise it's the same shade. 😳 I'd be mainly buying SNK AC for the Tatcha and Medik8 serums and I'm not sure that's a good enough reason.

I still want a beauty AC though so now I'm reconsidering CB. Need to see exactly what's in the fragrance edition. It's also cheaper than SNK, I have some vouchers and you get a £20 gift card.

Am awaiting Boots reveal too.

Whether a calendar is good and whether I should buy it have become two widely disparate things at the moment.

I think the WA blusher in the SNK is sooo nice 😍 definitely a shade I'd wear. I think I'll see if I can pick it up on ebay when the advent calendars start getting sent out.

I did some more digging into the serums and moisturisers in the SNK calendar. The tatcha was really pulling me in and I couldn't stop thinking about, but I suffer from rosacea and vitamin c really triggers it, so it's ingredients are not good for me. I've tried the AB retinol serum before and much prefer the Medik8 retinol in the Harrods BAC. It's probably a good thing as I was toying with the idea of buying both the Harrods and SNK. I would've prefer the WA blusher over the Rodial blush drops though 😕 one day they will offer us a way to build our own advent calendars.

@JoRaRaRa pick up the WA on Vinted/eBay, sell the Rodial and replace in your calendar. It will be a little bit closer to perfection then.

Part of our RHOBAC rules should be that retailers can't put the same product (including those in different shades) into a calendar 2 years running. Harrods had rodial blush drops last year too 😐

A lot of stuff does the rounds in edits too. I may have got that blush from a SNK edit. I think I need to forgo a lot of edits next year if I want to get the best out of advent season not the only reason I need to forgo. Both is overkill. Tbh some of the edits are better value but lack the excitement and anticipation of advent season.

Agree, I got some lovely edits but December was just a tiny bit…flat without the usual f&m.

The more I look at it the more I think I could get use out of most of it. Not bothered about the mascara and kohl and hairclips but I'll use the rest even if they go in my holiday draw for travel minis. My friends always spend a small fortune to buy their holiday products whereas I always have a stash ready to go.

Yes, maybe take a year off to get through some of your stash 🤣 I tried to not buy much this year, I did cave and bought a CB edit and a box from next, but those were needed and fantastic value. Oh and I also signed up to the Liberty beauty drop, but that's to save up for next year's BAC. I'm working my way through stuff I bought last year and gwp's and still have a ton of stuff left 🙈🤣 I'm really low on night creams though.

That's what I always do. I get my daughter to do the replacing so I don't open it til 1st December.
