This thread was the death of me last year i ended up with glossy box / look fantastic / just my look and I think boots

however this year i want one or may be one amazing and 1 cheaper- so I am thinking cult beauty - as I use some of the products featured and I need a lip oil

would have loved a cleansing balm though

I like the necklace and bracelet and some of the beauty stuff. I'd like to try the soft cream version of La Mer but it is only 7ml. The beanie sounds nice. Not sure I like it enough for the price. I shall think about it whilst at work.

Yes I think fragrances are the main winner. When you're competing with hundreds of others on vinted or ebay for the lesser BAC bits and bobs then it gets harder. But better for the buyers to pick up some bargains.

My, Vogue is impressive but wow at the cost!

I agree that some of it looks nice @OvaHere - beanie looks lovely! But for the price it would have to be spectacular, with no DODs! (An impossible ask, I think.)

A claw clip, hair pin, bag charm and metal gua sha? Disappointing from Vogue. Some of the items sound really nice but I don't like the jewellery or bag charm so it's not worth the price for me.

I think it's good that Vogue haven't upped their pricing, it's been the same price for 3 years. Not many others have stayed the same. They have possibly been able to do this by lowering the contents value.
My problem on this first look, is that I don't love the box styling, and I have no use for half of the contents.

Last year I was out of work and may not have made much profit but definitely covered my costs + an impressive stash for myself ( have ADHD, was bored) selling the bits from advent calendars. Probably went through 10 or so between sept and nov. This was before ebay went downhill though, can sell on vinted now but everyone wants stuff for barely anything.

@Caggie09 i like the Harrods creed one. It's not my fave, but I think it smells very elegant and sophisticated 😊 The only fragrance I don't like in the calendar is Nishane.

Hmmm, first impressions of vogue is that it's very disappointing. Bum bum cream, hairpin, keyring, biodance masks. Looks like cheap tat 🤣

@AlPaccacino A Pokemon card advent? How marvellous. I didn't know such a thing existed. Is it the one that Menkind are selling for £45? It seems to get poor reviews but I think my DD would absolutely love it so I'm going to get it. I'd never have known if you hadn't mentioned it here so thank you.

@RainbowZebraWarrior - there’s also a Pokémon advent at Boots, with 15% off atm, (still pricy, though).

Which advents are still to be revealed?

I have thought of Shiseido, but there must be loads more I can’t think of.

It's incredible how much and how quickly ebay has gone to shit. I also have ADHD and have amassed an embarrassingly large One Hundred Stars clothing collection (over fifty pieces) so when DD goes back to school tomorrow. I am going to begin selling half of it on Vinted. Thankfully the brand holds its value really well. I'm paying 10k for a new conservatory roof so I'm raising funds for that.

Vogue holds no interest for me. Although it has no Elasticizer!

Vogue is another off the list, possibly a good thing as ordered LF Fragrance and Glossybox yesterday.
I am back to debating SNK, I want around 15 items but have £80 in vouchers I can put towards it and John Lewis, although picked up the Medik8 cream in my US order.

Disappointed in the Vogue BAC & the box. The very first Vogue was really good & the box was beautiful, the second one last year not as good, the third one this year even worse.

Thanks for this. I've just had a look and we had a similar figurine one last year. Tempted to get another, but last years had a lovely light up winter 'stage set' which I've kept so I might just get that back out.

Vogue is so close to being good! They should have dropped the silly bag charm, priced it at £250 and competed with the rest. I'd have taken it over SNK, HN, CB, Selfridges but maybe not Liberty.

Or are there people who would be encouraged to buy for that charm?! Looks like tat to me but not something I'm in to or know much about.

Boots premium - if it was £30-40 cheaper, I would definitely have bought it
Boots skincare
Glossybox, (despite the multiple DoD)
Still drawn to the LF fragrance calendar

I’m sure I will like Shiseido too, but I do NOT need more teeny tiny beautiful pots of loveliness, (must use up what I already have!)

I think the GB video posted by @Puravida23 upthread was genius marketing by GlossyBox. The presenter looks and sounds like a ‘real’ person, and, although I didn’t particularly like how she’d done all her makeup by the end of the video, her enthusiasm and energy were irresistible.
