How can I look nice as a size 16?

Please help, I’m going on my first holiday in 8 years and I didn’t manage to lose weight. I feel self-conscious and really upset. I feel like cancelling but this will be my 6 year olds first proper holiday. How can I look nicer as a size 16? My arms and legs are surprisingly skinner as the weight is my stomach, hips and bottom. So I need clothes to fit my stomach - I look pregnant on some days. I don’t have much money so I’m looking at high street shops only, any ideas what I can wear? I can’t wear what I have as I wear the same thing everyday - black leggings and a tunic over them in different colours. I’m so upset with myself for not even trying. I don’t want to ruin this for my kids I really don’t but I feel
so self conscious.

I'm a similar size & pear shaped too. What i go for are shirred dresses (they are ruffled elastic over the chest, then flow out over your stomach, hips & bum). Ive got loads from Shein - just type in shirred dress in the search bar to have a look at them.

They really suit my shape & they are about £10 each so I can afford a lot of them.

I empathise OP. I lost 2.5 stone for my hols last year and felt great. I lost my Dad in November and comfort ate my way to gaining back a stone which I haven't managed to lose and am now just a month away from my holiday and am sooo annoyed with myself
I have accepted the way I am - at the end of the day ,people come in all shapes and sizes and im sure no one is going to give your shape a second thought.
I love the Yours brand for clothes- easy to wear, floaty styles and pretty prints for 14 + ladies. They have an online shop and there are pages of sales stuff. If pennies are tight, they accept Klarna so you can spread the cost over 3 payments.

Don't worry. Your dad would want you to have a nice holiday. Go and be happy. Nobody cares what anyone else looks like on. holiday. They're all too busy having a good time themselves. Just go and make sure you have a lovely time. Life's short. Enjoy it and sod what you look like.

Look up rants and big pants on insta and you tube. She’s an 18 and looks wonderful. Body confidence. They highlight Peacocks a lot and you’ll get reasonably priced clothes on there for a hol.

Change your frame of reference!!

I started out a size 22-24 with about 300 chins. Now after losing weight I'm a 16 with enormous norks and I feel fabulous.

But on a serious note, at 51, I have also abandoned the idea of looking any particular way. Its a losing battle. Grey hair, wrinkles, folds of flesh, skin blemishes.... i know which direction its going and I intend to enjoy the ride on that train all the way to hell.

Love this 👏🙌💛
