Bikini waxing - out of touch

Bayou2000 · 10/08/2025 17:50

I haven’t had a bikini wax since I gave birth to my eldest daughter (now 15). I can’t remember what I had done.
I pretty much want everything off apart from a landing strip/small triangle- what do I even ask
for? Sorry, silly question I know.
Does a full bikini wax tend to include underneath too? Again- sorry!!

Are people really getting that last one lol

Not sure why it’s laughable, it’s just a traditional bikini wax. It’s what we all had done before Brazilians were invented.

I’m sure the strimmer comment was said in fun. The OP didn’t say she was worried about anything, she asked for some factual waxing responses. The waxing was something she had chosen to do.

I’m in my 50s too. I’ve been all off since my later teens. l find it more comfortable, particularly in the warm weather but nobody is forced to have a wax.

Factual correction: Whoops! When typing I’m all fingers and thumbs! I’ve just given myself too many years. I’m in my 40s not 50s. I don’t want to wish my life away.

Ewww I’m sorry but that’s just disgusting, the 80s bush went out of fashion years ago and with good reason! There is no excuse to not be somewhat groomed down there these days

Nope, the only thing that’s disgusting is you trying to shame another woman because what she chooses to do with her pubic hair is different to you. Are you twelve?

StarlightLady · 12/08/2025 16:25

NeedWineNow · 12/08/2025 15:43

As I’ve got older my pubic hair has got less and less. I had a Hollywood yesterday ready for my holiday and I was in and out within 10 mins. My beautician was brilliant, used strip wax and was calm and efficient. She had advised me to trim down beforehand which I did, and whilst it wasn’t pain free there was certainly minimal discomfort compared to when I’d previously had hot wax.

This is why l said up thread that if you find a good beautician stick with her! It makes all the difference to personal comfort. And a good smooth result.

aperols · 12/08/2025 16:28

@NeedWineNow that’s what puts me off, having to spend a lot of time with growing out hair

15 years??
They’ll be wanting the strimmer out first.

Any need for this comment? Everyone is different

I never touch my public hair at all. Don't wax, shave or even trim and I don't have hair any anywhere apart from a triangle on my public bone and a bit actually between my legs. None even near my bum hole or thighs

Hair that grows on someone's body is not disgusting.

Your comment however? Ew indeed

I go for a Hollywood every month. The regrowth is a nuisance but quite fine. And softer than shaving stubble. I would love to be lasered.

It was meant in humour, for goodness sake.

I hate to be that person but I’m going to piggyback on your thread to save me making my own. What do I ask for if I want my bum waxed? Normally I shave my fanjo every few days but I’ve never been brave enough to go near my bum with a razor. The other day I noticed it’s definitely been neglected (i have pcos so I get hairy everywhere). So I thought I may as well not shave this week and go and get everything waxed

I have a hollywood and they always ask if you want the back done. It would be the same with a brazillian. Not sure about the less 'extreme' waxes but you can ask.

The 15 years?? Was also unnecessary. Humor or not. No one has to do anything to their public hair and people shouldn't be shamed for doing nothing to it.

Right, okay then

But it was humour and was funny 😀. I’ve a friend who calls me “Kojak” and l certainly don’t take offence.

Apart from a little regrowth, l haven’t really sported pubic hair since l was around 15/16, but surely those who do at the least run a comb through it to prevent tangles, rather than leave it untouched?

Thank you Starlight Lady. Someone who doesn’t take things too seriously!

No. I dont comb my pubes and they've never been tangled.

exasperatedflatmate · 12/08/2025 18:46

Tangled pubes? I think of myself as being quite hirsute but I’ve never even been close to needing to comb them!! And among quite a frankly friendship circle I can honestly say I have never heard of this!!

Not enough to get rid of if there is any. And I'm pretty sure I know my arsehole better than you

Oh dear, how long was it for a schoolboy takeover on a thread offering mainly practical advice and help to a poster.

I think lazered is the next step. I have been messing about with IPL to no great effect.

LOL @ combing. I mean I am hairy, but no, I don’t comb it- it’s really not necessary- it’s much better behaved than the hair on my head.

Hahaha yes I laughed at this too. I missed the trend of removing hair down there so I am rather hairy. But never ever thought I’d need to comb it. Although that’s given me an idea, maybe use some hair gel on it too
