I've finally made an appointment with the hairdresser for this weekend; it's probably six months since I last went and I've been trimming the ends myself (sorry all you committed hairdresser-visitors).

I've told her I'd like it cut into a bob (currently it's about bra strap length, with layers at the front, slight wave) BUT what kind of thing should I ask for? Or does anybody have any links to pics please? I don't want it all curled under and smooth and French-looking; would prefer a bit of body and maybe some choppy layers.

Any ideas/pics much appreciated please. Thanks!

I ma rubbish on longer hair, Janeite, I have a v short crop.

Could you nip to the newsagent, pick up a few different 'hair style' magazines to get some ideas.

Or, have a think about which sleb has a hairstyle you might like to try.

Is your hair straight/wavy/curly ??

[hoping for someone with more experience of longer hair to turn up]

lou33 · 28/05/2008 23:48

can you put a pic of your hair on your profile?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 28/05/2008 23:48

Aaargh I am - sorry

EachPeachPearMum · 28/05/2008 23:49

erm- I'm probably not the person to advise on hair
I only get mine cut every 2 years or so!
But while you're here would you mind if I catted you?
I want to ask you about schools....

(we spoke about wiis at christmas, I live in KH, but am thinking of moving...)

janeite · 28/05/2008 23:56

Hi EachPeach - I don't have CAT currently but is there anything you can ask here? Otherwise, I'll sort it out tomorrow so you can CAT me.

Pic is on profile for 2 mins only!

Oh- your hair is gorgeous! So luscious looking...

janeite · 29/05/2008 00:05

Thankyou - but it really isn't. It is thin and straggly and goes frizzy at the slightest hint of moisture in the air. SO - to cut it all off or not to cut it all off? That is the question!

OMG look at your fabulous swan neck. You are gorgeous !!

OOOh now I would say get a crop, show off your bone structure.

Can you be bothered to faff ?? Some styles are high maintenance.

Am thinking that a Meg Ryan tousled style might suit you?

What do you think ?

EachPeachPearMum · 29/05/2008 00:09

I don't know why, but having seen you post on the style threads, I always assumed you had short hair! weird
if you don't want to allow cat... please email me with my username at hotmail dot co dot uk
and I'll reply (but in the morning! )

janeite · 29/05/2008 00:12

Aww thankyou - BoysAreLikeDogs.

As little faff as possible; something that involves being in front of a mirror for less than a minute a day I think, if at all possible.

Will google Meg Ryan.

OP posts:
BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/05/2008 00:14

Meg Ryan deffo a faff.

Go short, no faffing with hairdryer/tongs/straighteners, just towel dry then a quick frrrr with hair clay and out the door.

See ?

janeite · 29/05/2008 00:17

Hair clay? See, I have NO IDEA! At the moment I wash it in the evening, stick it in a pony tail, go to sleep, then just brush it in the morning!

Meg Ryan has a fringy sort of thing too; can't do fringes cos my face is so small!

OP posts:
BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/05/2008 00:22

See if it were really short it would be funky like winona or like mine but not platinum

janeite · 29/05/2008 00:24

Ooh yours is lovely - my dd2 had hers cut like that last year and it looked fab! Now just HOW gorgeous is Winona Ryder?

I think I'd like it a bit longer than that to be honest though; still thinking maybe bobbish?

Off to beddy, bump tomorrow morning for more form me ?

And others, too

janeite · 29/05/2008 00:26

Will do. Thanks. Gosh, I've just seen the time!

Furball · 29/05/2008 07:14

this sort of thing?

janeite · 29/05/2008 14:54

Nice Furball but not what I'm thinking of. Deffo not a fringe - maybe a long, layer bit at one side?

OP posts:
Furball · 29/05/2008 17:30

this one?

janeite · 29/05/2008 17:34

Ahh now that one is very similar to what it's like now (except quite a few inches shorter!) when I can be bothered to blow dry it!

This but much choppier is the sort of thing I'm picturing I think: does such a thing exist?!

lovely janeite!

whats wrong with taking along that photo?

janeite · 29/05/2008 20:46

Thanks Furball but it's not really what I want; the model is So pretty though

I'd like it a bit longer and a bit more layered and shaggy looking I think but can't find anything even vaguely approaching what I have in my head!

OP posts:
Furball · 29/05/2008 21:12

a little longer and shaggy

layered

choppy

long layer bit at one side

Furball · 29/05/2008 21:13
