I've finally made an appointment with the hairdresser for this weekend; it's probably six months since I last went and I've been trimming the ends myself (sorry all you committed hairdresser-visitors).

I've told her I'd like it cut into a bob (currently it's about bra strap length, with layers at the front, slight wave) BUT what kind of thing should I ask for? Or does anybody have any links to pics please? I don't want it all curled under and smooth and French-looking; would prefer a bit of body and maybe some choppy layers.

Any ideas/pics much appreciated please. Thanks!

messy-ish

I LOVE that mad curly one! Mine's not wavy enough for that though.

The choppy one is v nice too.

the trouble with the sexy straight choppy styles, are they look great on the model, but in fact that look takes a lot of effort to keep up

most tend to just let it flop and it doesnt look so great when you dont have time to faff about getting it just so

Thanks Lou. Well, I've been and gone and done it! It's slightly lower than chin length at the front, with a few layers, and then cut into the nape at the back and it feels very different indeed! He's straightened it but said it would be okay left natural too - I'll let you know! It feels lovely at the moment though, all glossy and swingy.

ooh please put a pic up!

janeite · 02/06/2008 18:25

Lol - sorry, I have no digital camera (not even on a phone). I'm so happy with it though. I blow dried it last night and just lightly straightened it this morning and it's looked fine all day. I have had so many compliments at work too - someone told me it made me look 25! Even the teenagers were nice about it.

Ladies - if you are clinging on to long hair like I have been, I strongly recommend taking that jump and getting it cut!

Unfortunately though, I am now feeling the need for GHDs - anyone got £100 they don't want?!!! And are they really worth it?

i want to see the pic!!!!

There isn't one sorry. But I have had even more compliments today! In fact, I have probably had more compliments in two days than I have in the last ten years.

Ladies - get your hair cut!

And tell me about GHDs please!
