Am tempted to grab a load of my hair at the back and just cut it off

Would that be insane?

I'm not doing a Britney, just can't afford to go to the hairdresser and my hair looks really scrabby at the ends.

Could I just hold it back and snip the ends off in one go or would it look too noticeable?

It's past my shoulders, about two inches.

I've just cut loads off so now it is a kind of wonkyish bob, but dh said 'It suits you better that length' !!!

Correct answer

He is going to tidy the ends up for me later.

You did well. When I cut mine dp kept diplomatic silence until pushed, then gallantly said "It's nice [pause]. I think hair should be a bit rough."

I often cut my own hair

It is quite short. Dh went to sleep, so I may just ask my mum to lend me the money to go and have it tidied up by a proper hairdresser tommorrow. I do like it short though, and it will be easier to manage.

Actually, I had to cut it a lot shorter because when I tried hunkers suggestion it just didnt appear to be gettnig any shorter the more I lopped off. It wasn't til I looked at the back in another mirror that I realised I had been chopping off the top layers-doh!
