Help! Beautiful black dress for dad’s funeral

Hello,

I am in fairly urgent need of a lovely, modest, black dress for my dear dad’s funeral.

Must have sleeves (elbow or longer), knee length at least or below, I prefer high neck too as I’m a bit busty. I prefer something with interest, structure, or subtle pattern. I’m a squishy size 12, wrap dresses are off as just not flattering on me.

budget - willing to spend but not crazy money (not more than £350/400).

please link any ideas! Much appreciated.

I have a few nice black dresses for funerals, I have no idea which one I wore to my fathers funeral so it isn’t tainted by the association but I know I looked appropriate for the occasion.

@egdehsdrawkcab I hope you are sorted (noted you got a couple at an agency) but if you are not certain or changed your mind, Phase Eight have lots of black dresses meeting your criteria and not crazy money. My sincere condolences.

Hope you’ve managed to find something. I’m sending condolences. I bought a black suit style dress from Next for my Mum's funeral. It had short capped sleeves and was in the suit/office section. Tailored and knee length. I was a 10-12 at the time. It was inexpensive, but comfy enough and smart enough. :) I wore it for my Dad’s funeral a couple of years later.

High neck is the worst look for bustyy though.
Boat neck at the very highest, but a scoop or modest V is best.
High neck just makes busy types look blocky.
I have this dress, but in last years more square neckline and I get complimented on it wherever I go.
And I'm short, chubby and very busty.

I have the very dark blue one for formal occasions. The back isn't as low as it looks (its a good few inches higher than my bra so is modest) and it is very flattering on my larger bust.

I wore a new beautiful black dress ( already purchased, but not worn , for another occasion) for my fathers funeral . I never wore it again as it reminded me of that day . Went to a charity shop a few years later .
