Swimsuit suggestions please!

Hello!

I'd be really grateful for swimsuit style suggestions. I really struggle with suits as I am very body conscious.

I am 5 ft 2 inches. 12 and a half stone and apple shaped. I have a very pronounced stomach thanks to diastasis recti. Broad shoulders. Big boobs and slim nice legs.

I prefer darker colours. I'd like not to look too frumpy or blousy. Budget- up to £100 I think for something nice.

I am utterly unable to judge if things suit my shape. I will think I look okay in a mirror at home then see myself in a photo. Ugh.

I'd be so grateful for any suggestions!

Do not, under any circumstances but from an online company called Meet.Curve, I thought their costumes were exactly what I was searching for. Unfortunately what purports to be a UK company has an incredibly dodgy returns policy (see trustpilot) I tried going through my banks procedure to get a refund, unfortunately this was unsuccessful as there was nothing 'wrong' with the costume other than them not fitting me.
On a positive note, after an extensive swimsuit search for a costumes that cut a lower leg (as embarrassingly my apron belly rolls show through the leg holes), the best I found were Asda, Bonmarche (which surprised me), and Next. Tesco do a good swimskirt which could potentially go over any costume, but their costumes were all too high cut for my preference.

REcently I've had Toggs swimsuit with good tummy control, and also a halter neck one from Fatface.

I tend to tie a floaty sarong around self when walking around by the pool.

Also to add that I never go for a lower cut leg as have short legs and this style emphasises that .

Hi OP I’m like you, a bit taller, huge boobs, classic apple shape. I got this Cupshe one, I absolutely love it, it has an extra layer of fabric to ruche over the stomach and is really nice. Also the back is lovely

Putting a photo on in case the link doesn’t work - it’s a Cupshe from Amazon

Swimsuit suggestions please!

There’s a great variety of swimsuit dresses on Amazon, they all look really nice, I bought a lovely black one that’s very slimming, I love it

AmberHoney · 28/07/2025 22:21

Next have lovely swimsuits and tankinis, not cut too high.
They fit really well and are very flattering.

Souredgrapes · 28/07/2025 22:36

Came on here to tell you about cup she . Some one has already flagged them up . I have the plum swim suit mentioned and it feels great . The quality and the fit is the same as two other similar Bibba costumes I have that were 3 maybe 4 times the price.

I swim a lot and rate Landsend swimwear. It’s really hard-wearing and copes well with chlorine. I have a mix of costumes and tankini/bottom combos. I buy nearly all of mine in the sale. The beauty of the bottoms and tops is you can mix and match season to season if you stick with plain on one half. The tugless costumes are good for regular lap swimming, though a bit workmanlike. I have this one and it would skim over your tummy, but it’s in the sale and only available in an 8. https://www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Flutter_Fauxkini_Swimsuit_Light_Control/pp/P_43306.html?dwvar_P__43306_sizeVariation=59&dwvar_P__43306_color=BLA&cgid=11342&pageType=fp&dwvar_P__43306_size=XS They have other fauxkini styles and swim dresses with a better range of sizes though.

If you watch you tube Melissa murrell she does a swimsuit styling session for cupshe and they have larger figures on it and look fabulous.

Thanks! Looking now. Smile

I quite like some of the ones on this site
Plum Plunging Tummy Control One Piece Swimsuit

Have just bought this costume in black. It was a panic buy via Amazon, because we go away tomorrow and I'm really happy with it. I'm the same height as you. It feels slimming and I feel confident in it!

BugsyMaroon · 02/08/2025 10:29

Today was my fiurst outing for the decathlon swimsuit recommended by @ICriedAllTheWayToTheChipShop . I LOVE it! It's so comfortable and even with my shape very flattering. I am so pleased thank you. Thanks Plus I feel like I have lost a bit of weight (past 2 weeks I have been sticking to water and lemon rather than milk in coffee; beer and wine etc) so am feeling slightly more confident all round.

I am still looking at everything suggested and will probably buy another brighter one as well.

I really appreciate the time everyone has put in and all the links posted. Thanks

These are all great suggestions, thank you all so much. I am looking at every link.

The sports swimsuit idea is excellent and very tempting indeed. Plus I love a tankini because I hate shaving / waxing my bikini line (and truth is it;s hard to see as my stomach juts out so much.... I really need a surgical repair but have been putting it off ).

I really appreciate everyone's time and suggestions. Thanks

Another vote for the NEXT shareware one. Dark green is lovely and I am not long after a 4th baby with a tummy and felt pretty in it
