Facial spf50 for sensitive skin

S&B wise ones, can anyone recommend a daily SPF50 cream for the face that's good for very sensitive skin? Roc is no good, and I used to use La Roche-Posay but now it's causing a reaction.

Ultrasun is the only one I can tolerate

Tropic facial suncream is really good. I reacted to the Roc one too. I know tropic is a MLM and I tried everything to not like their products but then I gave up my protests because it's really good stuff.

Gruum.

I use Eucerin oil control spf50 as it has five star uv protection and I’m very fair and sensitive

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 17/06/2025 08:47

Dr Sam’s is really good for sensitive skins

CMOTDibbler · 17/06/2025 08:47

Ultraviolette mineral is v good imo. Very good protection and enough of a tint to stop white cast and feels good on
my skin

Do you use the specific facial one on your face or just the normal one? Trying to work out the difference between the two.

I use the facial one as have found the normal one stings a little if I use it on my face. My daughter also came out in a rash when I used the normal one on her face but I’ve not looked into the difference in ingredients

Biore watery essence (the stuff from Japan). This was good for my face when I still had rosacea/ sensitivity. However, I'm not 100% convinced by it's SPF rating, so I only use it in autumn/winter/spring. In the summer I've used the Nivea shine control one, which is ok (and gives good protection), but I don't like the smell and it can make my face feel a bit sweaty!

Mineral spf is best for sensitive skin

Mikart · 17/06/2025 11:35

I use Altruist

UmberMoose · 17/06/2025 13:06

I love la roche posay so you may try that. Here goes my routine with that. Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
LRP spf on my face
Cicaplast
Evening:
LRP moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 17/06/2025 13:08

I use Cetaphil daily defence cream.

Scoopdedoop · 17/06/2025 20:44

Thanks all - some good ideas to try. I might see if I can find a mineral based one. My face is all red and bumpy today from the one I have been using.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid seems to be the most recommended for sensitive skin (I use it whilst battling with challenging skin)

Nifty50something · 17/06/2025 20:59

I love Hada Labo - it's brilliant on my sensitive skin with rosacea. I started using it after beginning to react to La Roche Posay.

Green people!

The Skinsider website has lots of different Korean brands, a lot of which do sun screen, most of which have good reputations for use on sensitive skin. Mineral, chemical and blends of both. I use Ultrasun most of the time, but like a K-beauty treat!

Anthelios UVmune 400 is a gem

Livpool · 19/06/2025 18:18

The only one that doesn’t make my eyes sting in the Garnier tinted vitamin C one. I love Black Girl sunscreen too but it only seems to go up to spf30

Phunkychicken · 19/06/2025 18:36

When my skin has been really flared up I've used the LRP Cicaplast balm SPF 50. Been amazing when can't tolerate anything else.

Altruist has never annoyed me too. Nor Green People mineral.

I was going to get the Ultra Violette mineral but it's just been found to be only SPF5 so as a melanoma survivor there's no way.

My cancer Derm recommended LRP or Altruist as most effective
