Facial spf50 for sensitive skin

S&B wise ones, can anyone recommend a daily SPF50 cream for the face that's good for very sensitive skin? Roc is no good, and I used to use La Roche-Posay but now it's causing a reaction.

Altruist for me this year

TrtseHkpr · 19/06/2025 18:39

Ultrasun is excellent, the best I've tried

Divadahlia · 19/06/2025 18:49

I recommend Altruist. Have a look at the website, dermatologist approved. Very reasonable prices.

Ultrasun Face Fluid. You can often get it at T K Maxx for a good price.

have tried altruist so many times because I wanted to love it - great ethos, affordable, but it always irritated my eyes.

la Roche posay gel spf 50 is the best

Suasthuasanuas · 19/06/2025 20:29

My skin is very reactive. I used to be able to use La Roche Posay skincare but in the last few years I come out in a rash from it. There are very few products i can use these days without this happening. Ultrasun is fantastic though. I use the family spf30 on my face now. I don't have any reaction to this and I actually feel it improves the quality of my skin. In terms of finding skincare that doesn't make me want to tear my face off, I've recently started copying and pasting the ingredients into chatgpt to make sure there are no sulfates/phthalates etc that might cause me problems. It's been very helpful.

I use this Heliocare one. Even when my skin was massively sensitised during chemo, I didn't react to it.

ChatGPT is a good idea, as I should ry to work out which ingredients I'm reacting to, so I don't waste more money on expensive creams I can't use! I've developed v unsightly sun spots as I age too, so really want something I can wear daily. I like the look of the Heliocare one and may try Altruist as it's a fairly cheap option if it goes wrong. For all those suggesting La Roche Posay, unfortunately that's one of the ones I've started to react to.

I put the Nivea sensitive spf50 in the small white tube on my children’s faces before school, no smell or stinging

BB49 · 19/06/2025 22:29

I have sensitive dry skin and have just bought This from superdrug, it’s really good.

Altruist is also sold in sainsburys and on amazon (pricier on amazon and not as many options)

Cerave

Cerave

I love CeraVe cream but found the spf really stingy and I didn't like the smell.
