Victoria Madrid trainers?

Bought these last week because I wanted something more interesting than plain white and it was a bit of an impulse thing. I have always avoided animal print, I know it can be bit marmite. Loved them when they arrived and then son aged 19 saw them and ripped me mercilessly, so now I am doubting myself. I am early 50s, short but slim, not one for high fashion, just an ordinary middle aged woman who WFH.

Keep or return?
And if I return, what else instead?

I’ve bought the Victoria Berlin in leopard print today and I already love them. Super light and comfortable.

I’m flabbergasted at the price. They look like trainers you would pick up in Sainsburys. I like that they are at least leather but I’d much rather go for Adidas (timeless) or Nike.

I love them but wouldn't pay that price for them.
Also not sure what wrong with trainers you'd get from Sainsbury’s?

I don't like them at all but if you like them, go for it.

BashfulClam · 15/06/2025 10:30

I’m 46 and love them.

Hrft comfy keep, painful then sell/re-home.

I love them and may be buying a pair when I've got some Dosh.

Keep…get rid of the Son😉

Thanks all.
I only mentioned my age in the context of not being a young woman looking for the latest thing. In general, I do wear whatever I want and age be damned but when you do something different from normal and it draws comment, it makes you doubt yourself. I don't want to look ridiculous!

I am going to keep them because above all else, they fit. Most of the rest of my wardrobe is far too sedate. And I have decided that my role in life is to wind up my teens so they leave home soon! 🤣

I've just flipped back to your OP, @Schweden. At 19 so many teens are mired in embarrassment. Don't wait for him to grow up: please yourself.
I have the same shoe size as my DD and she casts a very beady eye on my shoes

Our heights and figures are very different but the rule is nothing goes to the op shop without her imprimatur. In a recent clear out of work gear I gave her more than 24 pairs of matte black tights that were happily received by her houseshare friends.
