Vest tops which eliminate the armpit scrotum pouch.

Do they exist? In my imagination I see something with a chic square neckline and thicker shoulder strap(bra friendly) which come right up under the armpit therefore hiding that irritating little purse full of fat and saggy skin.

I will pay good money if this can be found IRL!

Try fat face , I have some from there from a couple of years ago which have an extra piece of material sewn under the armpit to cover this area if that makes sense!

WendyFromTransvisionWamp · 03/06/2025 18:36

I have couple of these Kettlewell square neck vests. The front is double layered and cut high in the armpits. Also comes in lots of colours.

Gosh you are all so marvellous, thank you. Excellent suggestions here, I am particularly taken with the Uniqlo ones (I seem to be head to toe in quality Japanese high street minimalism lately).

And to those who seem to have no idea what I mean, good for you!

I have a previous incarnation of these which are great - sturdy because of the double layer so they stay in place and good coverage, feel like a proper top, and they have washed and worn very well. I'd be interested to know if the current version is as good!

I've also had the Lands Ends ones linked to below - shape was fine at first but just not as high quality and they have gone baggy and saggy quite quickly.

Double Layer Scoop Neck Vest-Navy

A versatile vest crafted with a double layer of soft cotton for a fitted shape. We recommend keeping it near the front of your wardrobe as you’ll be reaching for it again and again.

is there no end to the parts of our bodies we are meant to be ashamed of ?

I’m not ashamed of my body, but at 75+ I like to keep the worst bits covered up, so as not to frighten the horses. Love the OPs description of crepey oxters 😁

These might help. They are on the Amazon US site but would still deliver to the UK. They come in lots of colours too and are on sale https://a.co/d/7fMBTYy

I must have tried on about 20 different ones over the past year ranging from supermarket to Loewe.

The two I bought (had to get two once I'd found the one that fitted my 51 year old lumps and bumps the best were Vivienne Westwood.

Don’t you find this year that everything is ever so slightly racer back style, the shoulders are even more cutaway? The straps seem to sit mid shoulder rather than on the mid - outer shoulder. It’s such a subtle difference but if you are sensitive about that area it’s really noticeable. I have a small bust but a wide cup, my breast tissue starts in my armpit and really I need a strapless balcony style bra. I have had some limited success by playing around with bra sizes/sister sizes and taking inches from the back and adding into the cup- eg 34b trying 32C or even 30D but then I have the issue of not having enough fullness for a bigger cup size 🤷‍♀️ I also find a really good sports bra with a thick band under the arm can hold it all in a bit better.

Summersun9 · 04/06/2025 12:33

I buy extra long vest tops. I cut the straps and get rid of excess then neatly sew together again. The top is then pulled up to fit snugly under the armpits. Problem solved.

Haven’t RTFT but bought this recently and it seems to cover up that part (assuming you mean the bit attached to your boob not your arm)

Can confirm this to be the case!
And avoids the gaping cleavage look too, which can happen to those of us who are short.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/06/2025 14:29

@BadAmbassadori like Uniqlo vests, I would advise sizing down though because they come up big I find. And stretch.

Something like this or a slightly slouchier style is the most flattering. However I would say that by doing weights I’ve managed to
reduce underarm flab thank goodness. So worth a try!

Edited

It can also just be genetic. I’ve always had them. Even when I was underweight at 49/50kg. I used to obsess over them and other random normal body parts which is why I was 49kg 😣. I don’t care now. I lift heavy weights and feel great. The little scrotums are still there but they don’t bother me

blondiepigtails · 04/06/2025 14:34

It definitely helps to be wearing a good quality, well fitting bra. Too many women wear a bra that is too small in the cup and too big in the back. A well fitting cup that suits your boob shape will stop your breast tissue creeping back under your arms. Try your current bra - lean forward and scoop your boob into the cup. If you then have boob spilling over the top of the cup you may need to go up at least a cup size. I spent adult years in a 34DD - turns out I'm a 30G. Clothes look so much better on me now.

Sewaccidentprone · 04/06/2025 20:35

I find the bigger the size the lower the armhole 🤔

I feel your pain, just because I don’t want to show off my bra at the sides
